The Bears must have there heads stuck up there a----. to cut Chris Leak. Has everybody forgot that led his high school team to 3 state championships, was Parade magazine high school player of the year. Oh yeah, not to mention a National Championship in which he was the MVP.
Chris may not be 6 foot 5,but I will tell you this. This kid is a winner. He has been in more big games than most of the other rookies drafted this year. He has risin to the challenge at every level, and you havent heard the last of Chris Leak.

It's hard to hate the Bears for their decision. Leak IS A QB, without a doubt but is he a NFL QB. He has made a huge impact on every team he's played on. In the NFL it's what can you do for me now.
You can't change his position without a long training and body shaping regiment. I don't know if he can be a back..., you can't start him when you have three QBs 4 to 6 inches taller than him. You think back to Flutie and you say he did it... but It's a hard road for your offensive line to clear a path for him to see down field. He will be back and in the NFL but I'm don't know where and when.

Unfortunately success in high school and college does not guarantee you a roster spot in the NFL. There have been A LOT of great college qbs who didn't make it in the NFL. Maybe he'll catch on with another team.

I hope so. I think he's got a lot of potential. It doesn't surprise me that the Bears didn't sign him since they already have a lot invested at their QB position, however I am surprised he wasn't drafted in the first place and that a team with a greater need at QB wasn't the first to pick him up.

It would be funny, however, to see some team pick him up and have him come back and smack the Bears in the face with a good game against them. But the Bears D would never crumble like that, lol.

HEY, I APPRECIATE EVERYONE RESPONDING TO MY FRUSTRATION OF LEAK GETTING CUT, I'M GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS SURPRISED. I REALLY THINK CHRIS WILL SHOW UP SOME WHERE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. IM GONNA HEAD ON OVER TO THE INDEPENDENCE HIGH FOOTBALL GAME TONIGHT AND CHECK OUT SOME LOCAL PREP FOOTBALL. WHO KNOWS.. MAYBE CHRIS WILL BE THERE. MAYBE THE COACH WILL LET CHRIS SUIT UP IN THE #12 JERSEY THAT WAS RETIRED IN HONER OF CHRIS AND CJ FOUR YEARS AGO, LOL

WHY THE BEARS CUT LEAK I'LL NEVER KNOW, YEA YOU LOST TODAY AND WILL PROBABLY LOSE MORE GAMES; NO I DID NOT EXPECT LEAK TO START BUT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN KEPT, I HOPE HE WILL SHOW THE BEARS THEY MADE A BIG BIG MISTAKE LETTING THE GOOD ONE GET AWAY.
LETS SEE HOW OLE'--------GROSSMAN WILL DO IN COMING GAMES.
I'D RATHER SEE GRISE PLAY RATHER THAN GROSSMAN, SORRY, WELL THATS MY OPINION.
HE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN M.VICKS PLACE WITH THE FALCONS, NO THAT WOULD BE TOO MUCH LIKE RIGHT.
I JUST HOPE CHRIS PLAYS AND SHOWS HIS STUFF WITH THE NFL.
I HOPE SOME NFL TEAM SIGNS HIM SINCE THE STUPID BEARS CUT HIM.

Hmmm..isn't it kinda weird that no other team has signed him...I think the Bears QB situation is better with Orton as a #3 and not Leak. Maybe he really isn't as talented as some of you may think. Obviously there are plenty of other teams that could have signed him but nobody did. He just might have to play arena football or something.

The truth is we do not know if Chris Leak can or cannot play in the NFL. But what we do know is that Rex the wonder dog cannot play. This is no secret. We have a whole season that proves it, and now a second season of more than circumstantial evidence is upon us. Once you are in the NFL, and if you are a quarterback, it is easier to get on a roster as a backup. What has Griese ever done so great. No one else in the NFL wants him as a starter. Granted, he's no Joe Pisarcik thank goodness,(we'd all have to have our stomach's pumped after watching), but he is not the answer. The Bears has a great defense that covers a multitude of offensive sins, but it is unreasonable and unfair that the defense has to stop other offenses and score points too. That should warrant double pay! I cannot answer why Lovie is staying with him. Byron Leftwich is better than anything that Chicago has right now. I am not a big fan of Leftwich, but I think that he would be good for maybe 14 pts a game. That gives the Bears a real chance. The defense stopped a very good offense today. Not everyone is going to be as good as SD. However, winning still requires that a team score points. This is the offense's job and the QB should lead the way. That's not happening, and it won't. That is the reality.
