Second guessing and criticism is the media's gift to us all. They never played the game, are the most thinned skin creatures on thsi earth. The last time anyone of these media creeps was in a uniform was when their mother took them trick or treating.

What a stupid evaluation..Jacobs is a presence..just like LT was he didnt get a sack every play but you had to be aware of him every play...when jacobs is in there you have to pay attention to him with your linebackers..which should open up the seams for the tight ends..but idiot gilbride does not include these type plays...remember simms to bavaro seam plays down the field???? Gilbride does not have screens draws swings and slants like every other offense..and in every windy game he trys to throw the ball 50 times...he's the cancer not Jacobs..get the balls and write the truth.

Jacobs had 19 carries for 92 yards, he should have had about 32 carries for 150 yards. Gilbride's play calling was hideous. I think Jacobs is about the last guy I would pin this loss on.

First round byes can hurt a team as much as help.
If a team has key players hurt it's good to heal up. Otherwise players get rusty from waiting around not knowing what team to prepare for.
It's all about TV revenue anyway.

I just can't believe how incredibly wrong your assessment of the running game was. Why not take a hard look at the play calling on Sunday?

this is by far the worst article I have read in awhile. What's the crux of the article? the Giants lost steam or Jacobs shouldn't be resigned? following this piece was like trying to follow a darting laser pointer in a dark room. By the way, if anyone should shoulder the blame for Sunday it is Gilbride. Jacobs was very effective running North-South between the tackles but didn't get enough carries. We should have been doing that all game. Calling sweeps and fake snaps is bush league. No way Derrick Ward should have gotten as many carries as he did. I'm hoping Oakland is dumb enough to hire Gilbride.

This game, like most playoff games, came down to a few plays. They made just enough to win each game last year (and their opponents didn't make enough). This year, they didn't make the plays, and the Eagles did. Everything else written and said is filler.

I was there, peoples. I have no idea what game you guys watched. Gilbride was an absolute genius. Having Jacobs' run east-west for 1 yard instead of north-south for 18 yds ensured that Jacobs will remain a LOW-priced FA this year so that the cash-strapped Giants can retain him. And shame on the Mets for being short $200M on BankRupt Field while kudos to the noble Yanks for asking $400M of the city to help my favoritest stadium of all time, Yankee Stadium Trey! I've seen many great 2009 games there already!
