Parcells has his kind of players

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

It had been a while since Keith Davis' girlfriend had seen him smile so big. So why was he so giddy on that 2006 evening? "You'll never believe what happened today," he told her.

I watched the game live on TVANTS (live internet feed) and it was a broadcast with Jax announcers. It was fun listening to them moan about how their 1st string D was getting beat up my the Fins O. Not to mention how they cried about their O being ineffective against our kickass defense.

We really need to loose the penalties - geeeez!

I konw it is only preseason but it sure was fun to watch,

I think Ricky running in that heavy rain in Pitt last year and then working hard to get on the team made him a Parcells guy. Ricy will be tough to stop if that Oline looks that good in real games.

Even now, Jason was a good trade. I feel we could make the super bow. We played The Giants a good game in London. And we didn't really know where we were at at the time. But now, we have leadership. And we are marching forward. Get out ot our way. Here comes the Miami Dolphins. Ricky, Bill, Tony, Chad and the Team Yeah. Here we go into battle, we are going to be call the Mikle Phelps of Pro Football/

"... make the Super Bowl"? When? 2010? I know you're excited, so am I. Be realistic. As much as I don't like what Feely did, his comments about the Fins lacking talent are true ... that's probably why they hurt so much. It looks like our rookies are starting to play well and show promise for the future, which is great, but we still lack talent at WR, CB, LB, and S. We aren't even remotely in the running for a SB before 2010. Get off the crystals.

same story every year and usually ends the same way: the dolphins fail to show up and have a mediocre season or worse.

As nice as these articles are to read, let's not get ahead of ourselves. The headline ought to have read "Parcells Has (Some of) His Kind of Players." In a nutshell, Parcells looks for toughness--mental and physical. But even some of the players this regime has brought in via free agency will be gone a year or two from now when we have a couple more drafts in the rearview mirror b/c we do not yet have the needed talent at key skill positions, which even the Trifecta knows, as revealed in Sparano's comment "We don't have playmakers ..." So, yes, things are beginning to look up (w/ perhaps the greatest promise in Henne), but let's not kid ourselves. We do lack talent, and we need more, which hopefully will be coming next offseason.

our best football of that game was at the beginning... with our first O and D as well as theres... ricky has shown us this preseason hes here to play.. finishin runs the way he is... pro bowl caliber running if he keeps his shit together... pennington gives us game management.. and hes one of the better play action passers in the league.. very accurate.. we shouldnt be to bad this year.. around .500 is reasonable to say

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
