The Dolphins were 25th in pass defense last season and 10th in pass offense. Which of the two do you think needs upgrading the worst? I don't give a crap who is throwing or catching the ball, the Dolphins won't be able to win their division without a solid defense. Chad Henne + any wide receiver combo is not going to be able to hang with the Brady to Moss to Welker hookup. If Mel Kiper Jr. were running the Dolphins they would have rivaled the Lions for the worst team in the league last season.

Why can't the dolphins do both?

Some people make it seem like the draft is only about the first round. In case you have not noticed, Parcells has been hording draft picks like squirels hide nuts for the winter!

Personally, I like what Jacksonville did. They addressed their WR issues by picking up Torry Holt cheap and their projected to be going with Macklin (WR Mizzu) or the best available with their pick. Instantly the Jags become WR strong.

I realize that Camerillo, Bess, Ginn and Wilford are adequite but the dolphins are shopping Ronnie Brown as we speak.

If we lose Brown, there better be a gamebreaking reciever in the mix somewhere, by either the draft or by trade.

Now THAT was an informative article. Why can't we have more draft articles like this?

Draft deeper in WRs than other needs...can't see Tuna going WR till the 2nd round. If one of his OL, DL, or LB guys are there at 25...he will snag. Other than Jenkins, CB is a risk in first round...can't see him going there either. I feel a surprise coming from Dolphin Draft Camp.

there are some excellent WR's that will still be there in the 2nd round.

its a deep draft for them.

we probably will go LB, CB, WR, OL with our first day picks.

i wouldn't be surprised if we trade players also on draft day to some sucker GM's to get more picks. i would trade Ginn for a 2nd rounder in a heart beat for example and use that pick for a strong WR.

Just how long did it take New England to win a SuperBowl?

Their first time in a Superbowl produced the greatest BLOWOUT in modern NFL Championship history.

If not for Parcells the New England Patirots would never gotten the foundation to win the championships they have.

How soon they forget.

BP will not take a WR in the first round nor should he. The Dolphins will take LB DL CB then WR - I am hoping they draft the kid from Cal Poly - He is a sleeper pick - but there are tons of good large WR's we can get 3rd round or later - and with Penningtons noodle arm - we are much better off shoring up the defense first.

Yes I agree with your prediction on what Parcells and group might do by position. However if a top rated CB drops they may go with that player.

And the Fins haven't won one since the early 70's. So what? Parcells helped create the Patriots juggernaught and put the Cowboys back in the playoffs again. Then, he takes a top-5 worst team in NFL history and wins the freakin' division! His skill at finding talent are rivaled by no one in this day and age.

This is a weak draft this year, but if there is a quality cornerback available when the Dolphins pick, that is how I'd spend it. They lost a couple DBs over the off season and even if you have a strong defensive line, it doesn't do you much good if your DBs keep getting burned.
