How tragically sad. Everyone needs a will and this is the proof. I can't believe Uncle Sam could tax someone's assests and income that was probably already taxed before he got it in the 1st place and I am sure the IRS has gotten a huge cut already. The saga continues. This whole tragic event is one HUGE nightmare for the MCNair family.

Leave it to the state in wanting to claim the most out of someones estate. 0.50 cents on the dollar seems why to high when he has family his estate can go too. Maybe the state workers can get a raise now since the state is racking in the cash on a murder victim.

If the two older boys are to be tested then I think the two younger ones should also. If he accepted them as his kids then that should be the end of that and they should get what belongs to their dad. Its not about Mechelle who is an adult it's about these kids who no longer have a dad. Regardless of what she says she knew something was up and that means she is not as innocent as she wants us to believe. She was there for the cash........Give the boys their percentage. It is just the right thing to do.

The wife as well as the children deserves to get it all. They should not be able to tax it if taxes have already been payed on the money. If this happens it proves that government really is the biggest crooks of all.Not that they havn't already proven that. The only difference is they do not have to pay for being crooks in this life.

mechelle hasn't been PROVEN to have done anything wrong in this situation. i think that the oldest two boy's paternity should be proven thru DNA to prevent ANYONE from scamming them, no matter who it is. they should also be able to receive their social security benefits from their late father. social security is another branch of the government and trust me when i say they require proof of how many hairs you have on your head before they give out a dime. they require a person to prove everything before you even receive money that you WORKED for and put into the system as if it's THEIR money!! i don't really want to speak ill of the dead but steve sure created and left a whole lot of problems for his family that are so unneccessary and could have been solved so simply if he had spent more time thinking of someone other than himself!!!!

If he sighed the birth certificate then he knew they were his.If he signed there was no question in his mind.why should anyone else question it.This will only hurt the children. They can put it in a trust for them until they are old enough to be on their own. There is enough for all of them to live comfortably.Apparently you have not had to deal with ss when it comes to children. As long as he is on the birth certificate as their father he had to sign the leagal papers. And they will not question it.

Correct! If the eldest boy is his namesake then he would've had to sign the birth certificate and paternity acknowlegement form. After signing the father has 5 yrs to dispute it and after that it's a done deal regardless if they do a DNA later on and it's not his biological child.
