I just got off the phone with that loser Oxboro, and he said he'd be willing to trade Adrian Peterson AND the entire defensive line for a good backup corner to fill in for Winfield while he recovers.

I tried explaining to Oxboro that such a trade would be a disaster for the Vikings, but he wouldn't listen to me. He just kept playing with his Barbie dolls, barely even listening.

Maybe you can teach Baltimore's kicker how to make a clutch field goal.

If you're so 'big', maybe you should try out for that awful Packers O-line.

If there is any question on Winfield's foot injury, they should look at helping out the secondary. Paymah, yikes!

Interesting article Charley...except the Vikings are already deep at defensive line...Evans, Kennedy, and Robison add enough depth that they might be trade bait.

I tried to find defensive backs on your list (article), but didn't find any...I'll have to re-read.

My guess here is that of the teams going nowhere, they don't have quality defensive backs, or they wouldn't be in the position they're in.

The Vikings will probably have to work with what they've got, and hope that Winfield gets back and stays healthy.

If they beat the Steelers, then they shouldn't be satisfied with being 7-1...losing the the rival Packers should not be in the plan.

Charley... are you on crack? The Raiders trade Richard Seymour? They just gave up a 1st for him THIS SEASON. Glenn Dorsey? He was taken 3rd overall... unless the Vikings are giving up a 1st round pick next year and some change they won't get anyone you mentioned.

Realistically - how about Ronde Barber, or a Corner on a team that isn't going anywhere. Cortland Finnegan?

Vikings will draft a DT to take over fat pat's role as he ages. Brian Price anyone?

they will do nothing and it will show come January. I am a die hard fan but lets face it, they are content as they are. I am not sure without stiffening our D that they can beat the Saints or the Giants in the long run. They will have to pick up another D lineman or something.

Did anyone watch 'da Bears last night? They were awful. Talk about a team on a mission - to self destruct! They are going nowhere in a hurry and are not going to challenge anyone for a playoff spot. Cutler has no chemistry with the team. Every time they gave up the ball, he sat on the sidelines sulking. Not a good way to build a team!

So the thought is the one loss will come again the Steelers, Charley? The Steelers lost to Chicago and Cincy. Pretty sure we won't have any losses going into the bye.

Also, our defensive line is very deep. We need secondary badly. Shaun Rodgers? Huh? This article makes little sense and has little depth.

The team should trade for Barber the corner from the Buc's. He knows how to pick off passes and should be available.

Agreed! That's why I'm glad MN didn't trade for him. When all that drama was going down, I read the posts on Denver's newspaper, and was surprised to see nearly a third of their fans were happy to see him go, calling him a selfish baby. No thanks!

I think there's a good chance the Vikes will package picks to get a 1st round QB next year, lots of good prospects there.

I'm ok with 7-1 at the bye, as long as the one loss isn't to Greenbush.

Is LaRon Landry healthy? If so, he is one of the best safeties on the planet. He plays for Washington, you think they need picks and a QB. Trade Sage,a 2nd and a 5th.

What about Dunta Robinson from the Texans? I wonder if he would be available. He would be a great addition to the corner spot. Robinson has blazing speed which is also something the secondary needs more of cause they do look like they are a bit slow.

That would be awesome but i don't think Washington lets go of one of there best players at this point. The fans in Washington would be calling for Synder's head. Good idea though.

CBS did a horrible job with the game. Do they not believe in a sideline reporter?? That was by far the biggest reason the ravens were able to get back in the game and the announcers had no clue.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
