First hand view of the Raiders wide receivers

Full story: tfdssports.com

After having spent the weekend at training camp, I was able to get a good look at where the wide receivers stand. Yesterday, LDizzle did an excellent job of outlining the speed of that group. He is correct that they are fast, and it would seem to be that they would make an excellent 4x100 relay team. This has caused great consternation in the Raider Nation, as many believe that they are "track stars" who lack football skills.

I wonder if they are looking into Javon Walker's contract as a means of violation so they can cut him. It sounds like a good reason to me...

It wouldn't surprise me if Al gives Walker an opportunity "to retire or else ... ". This would give them both an opportunity to save face, and Al to save 4.5 million. I wouldn't be surprised if Walker's knee just doesn't "respond as he was hoping it would" during training camp. Will be interesting.

I'm honestly hoping that we lose him just simply because I saw a much improved passing game with Schilens and Higgins in there. I never thought he was worth signing in the first place. I was a little more optimistic about Ashlie Lelie, but he showed that he was passed his prime too. Ronald Curry used to have the most reliable hands on the team, but he lost them. After losing all 3 of the vets last season to injury and the youth came in, there was no question in my mind that we had a much improved passing game. I think Mario Henderson's play at left tackle helped contribute to that too.

Re-negotiate his contract, fill it full of errors, then use it to cut him. Man them Raiders are a dumb bunch.
