russell looked alright to me. but the ground game is what stood out. at one point we had 3 players averaging 7 yds per. very impressed with schilens and murphy at WR, but DHB better learn how to beat press coverage. overall i'm impressed even though its preseason

Its hard to judge on preseason.....the vets don't go all out as they don't want to be injured...the new guys like Schilens and Murphy give it all they got...so its not really apples to apples....but our ground game will be a beast for defenses to deal with... that's for sure...if they stay healthy we will have a potent offense on that alone. But I do want to see our passing game contribute more than last year for sure. I am so ready for the season to begin.

I'm impressed. The best to me was Michael Huff's pass interference in the end zone that saved a potential TD. We stuffed them on the first play when it became 1st and goal on the 1. Then there was a wild snap that drove them back, followed by an incomplete pass forcing a FG which was missed. I was LMAO the rest of the night at that.

i'm sold alot on this game. i know you say the vets dont show up but u would think they would if they want to keep their jobs. also DHB did great drawing dbl coverages. that opened up alot. at one point i saw a db about ten yards back just to cover him. but we ran the ball which was good. we have tall wr's made the db's look small as hell. go raiders.

They had some penalties, but overall, the Raiders looked sharp. I believe the mental aspect in camp is paying off. 2nd and 3rd team were far better than the Cowboys same teams. I am not sure about 1st team vs. 1st team. The Raiders still have some work to do. One note, Bush by far is the best NFL-type running back of the three and should be in on first down. He makes a big gain out of nothing by showing more patience/recognition than McFadden and Fargas.

Agree on Bush...I know they invested a lot in DMAC...but you got to go with who gives you the best chance to win....the money is already spent you may as well put the best team on the field regardless of payroll...I know he will get used...but DMAC should be our change of Pace RB. not starter.

When we did pass, I didn't see any dropped balls by our receivers, so that's a big improvement; there were some incompletes, but you're gonna have that every game. I saw Coach Cable's post game interview and he really seems high on this football team. He was not only proud of them winning the game, but they did nearly everything that he wanted them to do in that game. The only thing they didn't do was avoid stupid penalties. He really sounded for real; there was none of Bill Callahan's "This is the dumbest football team ever," or Norv Turner's sugar coating things by just saying "Shit happens" when mistakes were made, none of Art Shell's "It ain't my fault he's not trying," or Lane Kiffin's "They did all right, but not good enough." Cable was extremely proud of the way they played and it seemed to me that our first team was in the whole time because no matter what unit was in, everybody was hitting their marks and making good plays. It will be a very tough decision when it's time for the cuts at the end of camp.

Love him to bits but trade Fargas for a decent DT/Nose tackle and replace him on the roster with Rankin, cut Sands and get using Huff at corner back as well as using him some at safety and it's good to go.

You read my mind U.K.. As much as I like Fargas who has been a true warrior for the Raiders, I think Rankin deserves his shot. D.T's are all on borrowed time as far as I'm concerned. Huff knows that he is as well I believe, therefore his improved play. No more scholarships!

Fargas is a big locker room leader and that's the big reason he's still around, but I do believe that trading him for a good DT is a good idea since Bush and McFadden are both capable of getting the job done and Rankin looks very strong when he gets his chances. I think Huff made a big case to get his job back at FS, but we'll have to wait and see. I liked the way Jerome Boyd played too and that was mostly because Mike Mitchell was out with injury. Oh and the WRs all made good catches, so that really stiffens the competition there.
