Grant wants to be paid.Is he for real or did he have a good year like backs have had?
Grant reminds Edgar Bennett of Dorsey Levins in style size ect and seems to love the kid,and seeing as the fact the Packers are well under the cap maybe TT should pay the man. You know if a back with those numbers comands 5 mil per and he has a few more yeas until hes UFA,then TT will buy him out for 3-3.5 mil per year and make sure the first 2 years of UFA will go with it. Is this a smart move?( im fiquring that, its not fact or written somewhere, but the way its done by alot of teams so its a topic of conversation more then anything_)

Here, here! If we're really serious about helping out our young QB, let's get our best back signed. Good comparison except when Grant hits 2nd level he runs away from people. See my post responding to the guy comparing Grant to Gado--give me a break. If I'm Ryan, I think at least bring me in line with Brandon's salary and then incentives will make the deal. We don't know what his agent is asking for, do we? That might be the problem.

If I were Grant, I would feel VERY slighted by the GB offer of the minimum $370,000. As the story states, he is already 25 in a position with a short shelf life. So if he were to sign anything even close to that number, I would wonder about his cognitive skills. Maybe you guys can help me out with why he has no leverage? If he doesn't sign a tender with GB, what would be the consequences? Obviously, he doesn't have a contract, so he should be able to go to another team and get paid, correct? That to me, is leverage

I just read another story about Grant, and it would seem as though GB has exclusive rights to Ryan. No other teams can talk contract with him, so it is GB or bust. That does muddy his financial waters a bit.
This could very well be another defining moment for TT. If they lowball him again, GB will have a harder time attracting other top players because of these tactics. If they pay him his money, which they should, TT can hold off certain criticism and maybe even I will stop referring to him as Senor Tightness.

Grant would have to sit out a year to break free, if I understand the rules. I don't think that's going to happen. GB rescued him from the practice squad, which neither side has forgotten. In the end McCarthy wants him in camp on time, so Senor Tightness will have to come up with something. Stayed tuned. It does divert a little attention away from the ARod circus. I am still rehearsing for that first interception: "only 437 to go to catch Brett."
