Packers weighing contract options for Grant
Ryan Grant was one of the best bargains in the NFL this season. The Green Bay Packers' halfback, picked up just before the start of the regular season in a trade for a sixth-round draft pick, gained 1,189 yards ... via WisInfo

keep him! I wouldnt give hime say a 5 year $30 million contract, but at leat a 2 year to see if he can play at a constant level. So far i think Grant could be the second coming of Levins.

id say that you keep him for sure through next year and if he plays anywhere near the same as the second half of last season then you start to talk long term. he has to prove himself for atleast two years before you talk long term.

Ryan Grant put in hard work and it has paid off. He's proven to be an asset. Pay the man!!! Make up for the time he lost and then some! Packers would not have accomplished what they did without his contribution.

They can retain him for the next two years by tendering him, so the Packers have no incentive to give him the big splashy payday. And he has no leverage.
I agree that they should meet somewhere in the middle, but it's hard to say if it will happen. My guess is that TT will let him play through this year and if his production stays the same then they will be talking a year from now. Not that I don't think Grant's the real deal, but does anyone remember Cletidus Hunt? |

Well said - I concur. And if you're going to bring up Cletidus - you have to bring up Joe Johnson as well....ugh....

To me the only question about Grant is durability--best addressed with the other backs. What does it take to convince you that he can play? The money tied up in Jackson probably factors into this... Be patient. The Giants have three good backs, with the signing of Ward. Morency's the guy I can't see fitting in, not if Herron returns.

The packers are so far under the salary cap...why not take a gamble and pay the man a long term contract. If you ask me its not that big of a gamble. Ryan Grant does not seem like a man that is going to put up much struggle in his contract issues. He has not made a big deal right now abotu his contract he just wants some backbone from his franchise saying they back him up.
