Rodney Harrison

Giants' Tyree still thinks his catch is best ever

Full story: Newsday

Rodney Harrison couldn't defend "The Catch," so why should David Tyree? The Giants ' receiver won't say that his fourth-quarter reception in last year's Super Bowl was any more exciting, athletic or important ...

You have to be the dumbest least knowledgeable football fan in history. They only ended up with the #1 seed and got cold at the end and lost their best receiver. A fluke would've been not beating every team that was in the final 4 of the playoffs but what's the point explaining it to someone who is an ignorant moron. Do you cry when you look in the mirror every morning when you realize how clueless you are?

I dont think you can touch Tyree's catch. At least not with Holmes catch anyway. Granted, it was a nice catch, toe tap, and he scored the winning touchdown. But you got to understand what was on the line on the one particular play. First off, after that play the Steelers had more downs. They could have possibly scored a TD on another down. The Giants were on 4th and whatever. Ben stayed pretty still and didnt have to move much. Eli got grabbed and wheeled out of a crowd. Tyree caught the junk on his head, HIS HEAD!!! With Harrison all over him. Holmes caught it in his hands with no contact. Again, i am not taking anything away from Holmes catch. But to put it in the same category....or HIGHER is crazy. Just crazy.
i agree with you but, it was 3rd & 5, everything else you posted was true. Best catch and play ever.

You should keep your mom out of this.

And now we all know:

You don't know anything about sports.
You are not funny and haven't said anything I haven't heard already.
You vote for yourself.
You are very insecure which means you have an extra pinkie in your pants - blame genetics not the Giants - oh I get it now - the name "Giants" upsets you because you wish it was what you had. Sorry man - maybe you can find a girl that cares about the motion instead of the size.

If it had been me, there would be no question about it's validity. But since it was David, he gets no love whatsoever, and all the sour grapes New England fans call it miraculous. Nonetheless, it was the play of the game and the Giants triumphed over the HEAVILY favored Patriots. It was one of the best Superbowls of all time, regardless of what Goodell said at the end of the last one.

Hey, what you're saying may be true and all, but it might have been a different story had it not been for the nice work on the part of Plaxico Burress. Talk about distractions.

I believe that falls under the "Coulda, Woulda, Should" category Mr. Team . Obliterator.

David Tyree is destined to become this generations Mercury Morris. Santonio's catch may be in Tyree's neighborhood, but don't call him until there's a catch on his block. Champaigne for everyone!

Tyree's catch, even though it's the only significant thing to come out of his career (4 catches that whole season), was better than Holmes' catch, considering the circumstances. Both catches were phenomenal though.

The "only" thing?!
Obviously you haven't been watching the Giants since 2002. Tyree is one of the best special teams players in the NFL and was selected for the Pro bowl after the 2005 season. If Toomer isn't resigned & Burress is in legal limbo than Tyree should get more playing time at WR behind Hixon and Smith.
