-- Miami moved quickly to wrap up 49ers guard Justin Smiley, giving him a five-year,$25 million contract that includes $9 million guaranteed. We all know Bill Parcells likes to get his lunch-pail-type offensive linemen in place, but Smiley played on a 49ers offensive line that was pretty pathetic in 2007. He played in eight games last season before getting hurt, but some thought he was headed for the bench before the injury occurred. So why exactly was he so coveted

You guys got a great young guard. I mean us, I am a fan since 68. explosive at the point of attack, fast and can pull and block into the second level. Needs to work on pass blocking. Very intelligent. Runs 4.8's in the 40. Strong hands and upper body. Had same type of surgery on the other shoulder last year and it was fine, so I think he will be okay with this one. Ronnie is going to love this guy. Also has a tough attitude on the field. Great off the field. And he is my cuz.

I hope you are right. No what we need is a dominant left tackle, that will be around for years. Jake Long. I wont complain if we take Chris mind you, but I think the team needs go toward JAKE more, and remember, Sparano was an o-line coach before he became our head coach. This team will have Parcells fingerprint on it, but I think he will let these guys make some of thier own decicions. And what better a teacher can they have but Parcells! |
