Mangini opted for fewer points twice

Full story: Newsday

Did Eric Mangini have as bad a day coaching as it seemed? "I'll leave that one alone," tight end Chris Baker said, asked about Mangini's decision to kick a 20-yard field goal on the Jets ' first possession in ...

He should be known as "NGM," No Guts Mangini. I've defended Eric because he knows X's and O's, but he has no feel for the game. Settling for a FG on the first drive, punting after the delay penalty and giving up on the game with 3 timeouts left and the 2 minute warning is stupid and gutless. Unfortunately, a team takes on the personality of it's coach and NGM lacks fire. He's a technocrat. He's trying to be Belichick, but he's Belichick at Cleveland, not Belichick at New England.

Bowens needs only to look in the mirror - or on his own sidelines to know the reason Jets put no pressure on Wallace. Jets played poorly and coached even worse. Not only did Jets not pressure QB, they made Maurice Morris look like Mercury Morris.

Dude, what team were you watching this year? If he knows x's and o's then you know you have to rush more than 3 people to generate a pass rush to force bad throws and create turnovers. In every game this year there has been a WTF situation from this coaching staff. I've had enough and want the Phins and Chad to end the season for us and at least keep the pats from making it in.

I wish the media would be more confrontational in the coaches press conferences and really press this guy for answers. He always says I wish I could point to one thing and the problems would go away. Well news flash for ya, it isn't one thing it's multiple areas. I can give you ten. See below:

1. No pass rush because your scared to get burnt on the big play
2. Conservative defense
2. Abandonment of the run game
3. Poor play calling on O & D.
4. Under utilization of play makers (Leon)
5. Poor pass protection
6. No emotion or fire from the head coach
7. Can't adjust in game, stubbornly stick to your team specific game plan.
8. Players are thinking too much about your "schemes" and cant react and use their instincts to make plays.
9. Constantly rotating players in the secondary, cant build chemistry and communcation suffers.
10. Players haven't bought into your "system" because it flat out doesn't work. Players don't respect you and want to play for you. Some might, but not everyone.

The list could go on and on. Please get rid of these guys and give us hope for the future. As Jets fans that's all we ever have is hope and next year. Players get your BBQ/Grill out cause you will be at home this year once again.

I still have no idea why the put Calvin Pace in coverage the majority of the time. 4 straight weeks with no answers of any kind... Sweep 'em out.

Get a good coach in here, Cowher, heck I'd even take Marty Schottenheimer! Mangini is outclassed.

There's nothing more to add. The Jets coaching staff are among the worst in the NFL. Neither Mangini, Sutton nor Schottenheimer have performed successfully in pro football and while I hate urging management to fire anyone, these three losers must go. So too Tannenbaum, the cap specialist, who brought us an aged, washed up Favre, and gave up on Chad.

This organization is so flawed that it will never win a title in this century. And should Miami win next week how embarassed this incompetnt crew will be.

JETS and PSL's??? Are you KIDDING me??!!!
Any fan DUMB enough to pay for PSL with the JETS are MORONS!!!

RATLIFF looked good in preseason I want to see what **(RATLIFF)** can do in some real NFL games and FAVRE arm is TIRED. And this will happen next year too because FAVRE is strong at the start of the season but by game 5 or 6 FAVRE arm starts getting tired and he cannot throw the deep ball now and this will happen next year also!

Some one please tell MAGINI to spend MORE time coaching the JETS and tell MANGINI he should spend LESS time shoving **(SPAGHETTI)** down his FAT throat! MANGINI looks like the PILLSBURY DOUGH boy standing up there when giving his press conferences. I can't stand listen to MANGINI say the **(SAME)** thing every week!
Like we need to CORRECT our MISTAKES! And we have to be more CONSISTENT!
Mangini just SHUT UP!

This will happen NEXT YEAR too, because FAVRE is strong at the start of the season but by game 5 or 6 FAVRE arm starts getting tired and he cannot throw the deep ball now and this will happen next year also! And the JETS STILL can't get a **(PASS RUSH)** unless they BLITZ the entire secondary and Line Backer squad!

Both teams suck. Jets lose to the sorry Seahags and the mighty Dolphins play a scoring fest with a 2-11 team and their rookie QB. Anyone from the AFC Least will be one and done in the playoffs, greatest embarrassment in NFL history, cant wait to watch it happen!
