It really doesn't matter. No one can get them the ball. With this OL Brady couldn't hit Moss.

Boller is going to camp early to practice throwing over the guy's head and into triple coverage.

Mason is old, Clayton and Williams are often injured, TE Heap missed two of the last 3 yrs. This matters a lot the Ravens have a major talent gap at WR to close even in their own div let alone the rest of the league. Lets hope the kid who caught 90 plus balls in college last season gets a chance to play, it can not hurt!

We've been drafting WRs left and right, but we're wasting talents cuz we have not had a SOLID QB in YEARS. Let's see what this group of WRs can do. or to be precise, let's see how our QBs will perform having a decent group of WRs.
Wheelright is 6'5 and to me, he needs to get more playing time. I know we had Moore who is 6'4, but home boy is injured a lot so we might wanna say goodbye to his @ss. Justin Harper looked good in Minicamps as well. So did SPIDERMAN. |

If they don't make it, we got room here in the AFL, just ask Randy Hymes. |

Well....let's see here.
1. Mason had a career year in receptions last season, even amidst our offensive troubles. He caught most of those passes, and TDs, from Boller. 2. Clayton and Williams are NOT "often injured". In fact, they both played every game in 2006, and both did very well, I might add. Clayton had almost 1000 yds., and 5 TDs. Williams had an 18 yd. average, and 2 TDs in more limited play as a third receiver. Clayton also had a pretty solid rookie season, all things considered. 3. Once again...Heap has NOT missed "2 out of the last 3 seasons". Get your sh*t straight, please. He missed 10 games in 2004, and 10 games in 2007. Other than that, he has been healthy and has started EVERY SINGLE GAME in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2006. He went to the Pro Bowl in 02-03, and he SHOULD have gone in 05-06, as he actually had better stats. Even in our limited passing game, he has been one of the top TEs in the entire league. Show some respect, and a little knowledge please. There's a reason he's our franchise receptions leader. Beyond all that, I think our offense is going to surprise people, including most Ravens fans this year. Cam Cameron is one of the best OCs in the league, and we have a lot more offensive talent than most people think. I can easily see a post-Mason future where Clayton, Williams, and perhaps this new kid Marcus Smith, could be our receiving corp for a long time. |

So do you think Dan Cody will make it to the regular season before being put on IR?

I think, sadly, like Mike Smith just was, that he will eventually just be waived or released otherwise. He may well have a killer talent that coaches have seen in him all along, but he's also pretty much spent 3 seasons injured. That really sucks for him, and I mean that. I can't imagine how he must feel, knowing he can play and contribute, but everyone thinking he's a flop because he can't stay healthy....he got injured last season during training camp. I heard he was so upset he was crying...and I don't blame him. What a horrible career to have.
But the problem is, we have Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, and Bart Scott, three top shelf LBs, one of whom is arguably the best ever, and all three of whom who are now in their LAST contract year with the Ravens. This is serious busniness. Yes, we could likely let them all go, and re-build with younger talent...but our defense would suffer for it. We're talking about three of the best LBs playing the game today, on OUR defense. That's a big deal. If we were to only be able to keep one of them, I would honestly pick Ray Lewis. Yes, I'm sure that will get a lot of flack, "But, he's OLD". Yes, Suggs and Scott are younger and have many more years ahead of them, but neither of them are Ray Lewis....neither of them play QUITE as hard, and neither of them bring all the intangibles that he does, neither of them can lead this team, spiritually and physically, the way he does. He IS the Baltimore Ravens, he's been with us since the beginning, and it would feel just plain WRONG to have him ever play anywhere else. Period. But if we were smart, and have some creative accountants, we will find a way to keep all three, because honestly, how many of us really want to see a Ravens' D withOUT Lewis, Suggs or Scott anytime soon? Not me. And beyond them, we've also got some young blood coming in, like Brendan Ayanbadejo, Tavares Gooden and Antwaan Barnes, as well as possibly Prescott Buress and Edgar Jones. We've got some great young LB talent....and we just don't need Cody at this point. Barnes and Gooden will probably both be contributing to our defense big time by the end of this season. And I really think that if Harbaugh is serious about having the best Special Teams in the league, we need to keep BOTH Ayanbajedo AND Gary Stills...that tandem running down the field could stop ANYBODY. And we need that....great special teams can win games. So, I have nothing against Cody. I wish he would have been healthy so we all could have seen him play...but at this point, unless he REALLY impresses in camp, I would have to say that I'd rather see him get cut, than someone like Stills. |

I heard Cody stopped the HGH right after college and became injury prone immediately ..........Ozzie didn't do his homework on him , just like many of the others..........If I was in charge I wouldn't draft kids like that , they never let me be in charge , I won a super bowl ring you know.........

Talk about beating a dead horse. Let it go dude. Find something else to write about...if you can. |

Well done my friend. It is a constant struggle to educate these stupid fans who constantly rip everything with no proof whatsoever. I wish they would all just become Steeleror Redskin fnas. They deserve each other. |

boller is just going to throw the ball 20 feet over their heads anyway and flacco is only going to be a rookie.

This was an excellent and well thought out post, though I'm sure Ravens Flock didn't need to tell him that. People forget that Ray Lewis, bar none, is the best defensive signal caller in the league. His study of the game is superb and he calls audibles in the huddle and at the line better than anybody else on defense in this league. Here's what I think is going to happen to Suggs. This season is the definition of contract year for Suggs. However, alot of that will depend of Pryce. Suggs can reap much more havoc with Pryce healthy. Also, if the secondary can stay healthy, Scott can blitz more and that will also benefit Suggs. I think that if any of the three are going to be expendable, it may be Scott(Not saying that he is), because Pryce is getting older and Suggs would be the only legitimate DE capable guy we have on the roster that can do damage. I could see Barnes taking the place of Scott. He showed some great flashes last season and I also expect him to get substantial time this year. As for the offense. You can talk about the quarterback, you can talk about the offensive line(most important) and you can talk about the recievers, but if you don't have a quality offensive coordinator then none of it comes to success. It didn't seem like McGahee even got 20 carries a game(It's amazing he's still playing Pro Bowl Calibur after his Injury and Surgery) and he still topped 1300. Now you have Ray Rice behind him, who is a solid RB who also knows how to hold onto the football and plays very low to the ground if I'm not mistaken. The running game must be established. If there's one thing this young line has proven its that they can create some running lanes. You can't throw 40 times a game if you don't have a strategy and flow to the passing game. You can't take chances deep for the sake of it. I know, people will say, "To keep the defense honest". Well, if your deep game isn't good, defenses scout that before you've even stepped onto the field and they will not respect it anyway which is what happened last year. We didn't have anyone to handle the deep catch, because Williams was hurt. He seems to have a nice connection with Boller on the deep ball, but I think he was hurt by the time Boller came it. If Cameron can put in better play calling then we will see what really needs to be fixed on this offense. The line may struggle in pass protection, but this is the line of the future to gel together(except maybe Terry). There were about three games I saw last season where offensive playcalling late in the game may have cost us the game. At that point, talent doesn't matter. |

Now now. Stop being so negative. I think Cody will not only make it to the regular season, but also through Ray Lewis' entire pre-game dance routine before being injured. |

Everyone loves to talk about how Boller throws the ball over every receiver's head (usually into triple coverage, I would add). But that's not the fun one. The one I like is when he hits Heap or his tailback at six feet away on a flair pass with one of his patented 150 MPH fastballs that knocks the poor receiver into the second row of the stands, helmet flying God-knows-where. Seriously, a case could be made that Boller has as good or better an arm than any QB playing in the NFL today. It's a damn shame that he has so little feel for the game. But Cam says he can work with him, so I guess we'll see. |
