Good article to point things out. Yea, the Vikes have NUMEROUS options oh and NUMEROUS needs.... this should get interesting!

could you imagine....landing cleo lemon.....with his sterling won loss record....nice upgrade over holcomb!
surely there is a way we could get red to come in and help with this free agent signing period.....shoot....a couple of hundred million ought to do it! look how much we save on the backend! how is the triumverate thing working I wonder....you don't hear it mentioned anymore....sort of like the randy ratio! it is great to be a vikings fan. one day...we will win it all...won't we? |

Chilly needs to stay away fom Philidelphia rejects. Hasent he learned any thing yet. Some one shake him and tell him he's in Minnesota.

The Vikings will take the wait and have to scramble aproach to free agency. A 6th round choice for Williamson? Might as well have either kept him and transplant the guy's hands or just released him. What do they really think they can get with a second 6th round pick? Why not a at least a 3rd or a 4th? Bum!!
Because if they would have released him they would have taken a cap hit. By trading him, at least they get something. Even if it is only a sixth round pick. How can you possibly suggest that they should have outright released him rather than trade him to someone for a pick? Are you a Green Bay Packers plant? Or are you just that dumb? |

I'm dead serious when I say: Re-sign MOSS!!! We need our passing game to open up for Adrian Peterson. I know you need help at the QB position for this, but if Childress is going to stick with T. Jack then you have to give him help (WR were dropping passes like flies last year). Moss would help the passing game tramendously and the running game. Then you draft DE in the first round, and sign some FA in the Def. part (Safety). Moss will also help the fan base. And don't give me the character issue with him. Since he has left we have had a sex boat, an alchoholic (K. Robinson), a guy having sex in public, and a Miami thug (McKinnie even though I like him on the team). The majority of the Vikings fans miss Moss. My brother has a jersey of Moss on the Vikings, Raiders, and Patriots. We almost didn't sell out a couple games last year. If you have Adrian Peterson and Moss on offense and a solid def like last year (work on the Pass Def.), can we say at LEAST NFC NORTH TITLE!! Don't be scared and pull the trigger!

Sounds like nothing but garbage available in free agency, including receivers and defensive ends. Doesn't matter because the Vikings won't pay anyway. What half-decent reciever would want to sign with the Vikes and deal with Childress and Jackson? The Vikings need a quarterback more than anything and obviously that isn't going to happen, so who cares?

Troy Sissorhands just stunk up the joint anyways. They're lucky they even got THAT for him. Good that Kelly "Ho-Hum" was axed too. Leaves more $$ for FA. The team needed an enema anyway. Drafted WRs are hardly ever productive in the first couple seasons.(outside of a few known exceptions) DEs are. So are RBs. Being RBs are well-covered, after FA, they might want to think of a young one to develop. I think with a good QB as #2 from FA, 2 DEs, and a decent WR, you can add 2-3 more wins to The Vikes over what they had last season.- A recent poll shows that a big majority of Minnesotans want the new stadium. Now, it's just convincing those old grannies to do the right thing.

With all the cap money available the Vikings should be able to land several veterans who can stp in and make a difference. The Vikings aren't that many players away from being a serious contender.

I CANT WAIT BABY LETS GET SOME DEALS DONE
MY DREAM OFFSEASON: VIKINGS SIGN MOSS CULPEPPER SMITH AND WILLIAMS OMG CAN U SAY SUPERBOWL AND THEN DRAFT JACKSON IN THE 1ST ROUND AND HAVE 2 SECOND ROUND PICKS BECUASE OF THE TENDER TO FARWELL COMMON VIKES WE HAVE THE MONEY LETS GO SPEND IT! but in reality i would love moss to be back but iwuldnt mind BERRIAN, WILLIAMS AND A QUARTERBACK, prob draft a DE again in the 1st round but get smith over here hes proven |
"Why not at least a 3rd or 4th?" Who do you think was going to give the Vikings a third or fourth round pick? To get anything for Williamson is pure genious. If he was good enough to get a 3rd or 4th round pick for, the Vikes would have kept him.
3rd or 4th round pick for Troy Williamson?!? Are you retarded? We could only get a 2nd round pick for Culpepper! You could maybe get a 3rd round pick for Chester Taylor......but for a receiver who can't catch, and has never put up big numbers(in college or the pros!) we are lucky to get anything at all. The only reason Jacksonville wants him is cause Tice is whispering into Del Rio's ear "duhhhhh, he's fast, huh uh".

Dude, Moss is not going to leave New England. They have already been talking about an extension, and I read yesterday that it is possibly already done, they just haven't announced it yet because you can only do no more than 2 extensions for a player in on year. My bet is the headline you read tomorrow in New England is "Moss agrees to 3 year contract, worth X amount of dollars." Plus, even if he became available, why would he come here? We don't have a proven qb to get him the ball, nor do we have a second receiver that would take away the constant double teams. The only way he would MAYBE do it is if we offered him the whole 35 million we have under the cap. It just doesn't make any sense for him to come here. They need to overpay for Berrian, and get one of the DE's listed, then another QB, but the couple listed are questionable at best. Why didn't they list David Carr, he was released yesterday, he's young enough to come in and compete with TJack. |
A 6th round pick for Williamson was a steal for us. Why not give the Jag fans some headaches, he gave us plenty. Can you imagine, the Jags offense is struggling to move the ball against their hated rival Colts. Troy breaks free, Gerrard throws him a perfect spiral for a sure TD, the fans are on their feet, and he DROPS IT. Sound familiar. And what can you get for a 6th round pick, just ask the Patriots. |
Wow!! I though I would never see the day when someone would say "how about we get DAVID CARR"........I had to contain myself in my office....lol..... |
Really, David Carr and Billy Volek are the cream of this years free agent QB crop........thats sad. As medciocre as those choices are, you gotta sign one of them, because they are both hands down better than Kelly Holcomb and Brooks Bollinger.
As for Moss, no way would he fit in here with Childress as coach. Moss was on his best behavior last year because he was playing with a QB that can get him the ball and playing for a coach he respects. You think Moss will be a model teammate if he has T-Jack throwing him the ball and Childress trying to control him? It would be a Raider-like disaster. |
And Bollinger and Holcomb were better pick ups? And Cleo Lemon is better? Face it, there isn't much out there for free agent qb's. I would say Carr(who started on an expansion team and last played with no receivers, rb's or offensive line) would be better than Lemon since he does have more experience. Sure he isn't the greatest, but he could at least compete with TJack, which would maybe push TJack to learn from his stupid mistakes. If you think Carr is so funny, who do you suggest? |
I'm not badgering your choice of Carr, it's just that I'm from Houston and you should have seen our city screaming for his head year after year........worse than Grossman haters.....remember he was the 2002 #1 pick, something he has never lived or played up to.
Who would I want out of that group..........I'll take Volek. |
the only move that should be made is the cutting of BROOKS BOLLINGER!
