The price may be steep but at least we're trying something to stop the bleeding. The problem isn't just the D-line. Our linebackers seem to disappear and then reappear about 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Perhaps we should move Freeney to middle linebacker as it's not likely he'll get a sack unless the Q-back takes a 20 yard drop.

The colts have picked up a vital piece in the Quest for the Superbowl, last year when they got simon he was out of football shape and it showed last season, now they have a good tackle who is ready to play and will get big minutes as the season goes, great job to Mr.Polian and his staff because when the time came they pulled the trigger. this could be the year,I hope.

It seems the price for mcfarland is a little high in light of his past injury problems/lack of productivity and salary. Here in Tampa they were talking about cutting him? Are they desparate?

What a great pickup! Instead of doing nothing, they do the right thing and pick up a body for the middle!

Nice job, Colts!

This is how a new millenium team goes to the Super Bowl. You admit you have a major problem...you don't act like it's not a big deal for appearance sake...
you go out and solve the problem with immediate action.

Sports teams will run in cycles For the past few years the colts have had
the chance to get to the super bowl in a very competitive league Good teams and management take a chance to get players who will help them while the opprotunity is there Good pickup for the colts According to his size he looks like a dodge ram diesel pickup which is what we need The offense cannot always win the game

Not desparate but addressing a need which is not what this team management would not do in past years A second round draft for an established 28 year old play is not hefty Most good players are found in the later rounds
anyway Plus he has played for Dungy He knnows the system Also I have a brother in law who lives in Tampa He is real unhappy with Gruden Why did Tampa let Gruden bust up that stout defense a few years back They were fun to watch

I think that this is a great move for the Colts. In addition to simply getting a 300-lb run stuffer, we get someone who can step in and contribute quickly with this knowledge of Dungy's Cover-2 defense. Other than catching assorted Bucs games, the last thing that stands out to me is that when Warren Sapp was a high profile free-agent and signed with the Raiders (we've seen how well that turned out for all involved), insiders and the Bucs brass said that Booger was the better D-lineman. Maybe now we can hold Portis to under 150.

Go Colts.

I think it's a move that needed to be made b/c everyone is running all over the defense and if he can help shore up the run defense, then i'm all for it

Thanks for taking him from us ... he hasn't been an asset for the Bucs, and I'm sure he won't be for the Colts. He hasn't completed a full season due to injuries and his stats are sub-par. We still love Coach Tony down here, but I think he made a mistake. GOOD LUCK

I wish the PACERS would look at how the COLTS are doing business.

He needed to be on a team that is going somewhere, it will lift his morale, and he will get better, I mean who is in Tampa Bay anymore, Derrick Brooks......anyone else???
