I have a few question marks going into the season but I feel very confident that we are a team very much on the rise. This season will tell us a lot about Brian Kellys ability to coach up/develop players. Everyone has had a season under their belt with the new Offense and Defense so there should be improvement based on Kelly's track record. Go Irish. I will know that we are back when I see more haters reponding to these Notre Dame topics.

Hey Chosen Traveler!
Have YOU been drinking the Kool Aid or
smoking the Icky Wicky? NOTRE DAME "will"
defeat your TROJANS! And by the way, it's
about time they "caught up"" with your
"cheaters" FIGHT ON! What a joke!
WELCOME TO SOUTH BEND, CHUMPS!

p.s. I am ALREADY looking forward to NOTRE
DAME FOOTBALL, especially since my CHICAGO
CUBS "suck!(sorry, DAN!)

GO IRISH! BEAT TROJANS!
NOW that cheer does sound great!
YOU are in for a big surprise this year
as your team will be just a fairly good team!

HA! HA! HA! Goodnight from Arizona!

While the schedule does have names, they are generally weak names so only losing 2 is very possible, one of those losses will without a dount be to Notre Dame. I am thinking more like 3-4 losses for USC. I think a loss will come from one of the Arizona schools and Washinton may be one of those games that sneak up on ya. I guess you have a higher opinion of Cal than I do. That one is a toss up. Stanford, I really don't know, new coach and all. It all depends on your D this season. If they can improve a lot (I don't mean a little), then that changes things because it will help out the Offense. Oh yeah, Barkley has to stay healthy and continue to reduce the bad choices. That should happen with another year of experience.

Like Dan alluded to Jimmy boy, it depends how our D plays this year. But our offensive weapons will be so strong that they will propel us through those road games and after our victory in South Bend, you boys will be cursing the names Barkley and Woods with the same level if distaste like you still do with the names Leinert and Bush!

"Barkley and Woods with the same level if distaste like you still do with the names Leinert and Bush! "

So you are saying that they already agree that they can't win it fair and square so they have decided to cheat like Leinert and bush did?

Good try Dan. No what I am saying is that after Barkley and Woods like up ND for 5 TD passes between them, the South bend faithful will curse those two names as much as they did the previous two when your boys thought they finally ended the losing streak but never did. Now ND faithful has some wild notion that "they" will be starting an Irish streak which will be crushed by Barkley and the Trojans. Why do you think matt came back this year/ To win 10 or more games and win the Heisman much to the chagrin of the NCAA.

Cheat on for USC!
Nice try Mr. Chosen (one) Traveler!
As the TROJANS & their foolish followers
squirm out of NOTRE DAME Stadium after
they "lose" to the IRISH, I would really
enjoy the crowd singing that wonderful
rendition of NANANANA NANANANA Goodbye Trojans
Goodbye!

Watch out, especially for Manti "teo number 5
He is going to shred your running backs!
I will be "more" than happy to send you a
box of tissue! You WILL need it!

HA! HA! HA! Have yourself a nice day,Traveler!
You still have some time to reflect on your
fair season my lad!

KEEP giving him hell, Dan!

Dude, I'm not gonna be Mr. Irish homer right now at all, I'm going to be very objective.

u$c's offense is going to struggle more than they did last year.
You do know all the players they lose on the O line don't you?
And they didn't just lose bodies that they can replace like they always have, because the kids behind them have VERY little experience.
And it's not just an experience thing, it's a depth issue!

Trust me CT, I live very close to u$c and I follow the program very closely.
All I have heard froms fans and alumni friends (and seen with my own eyes), is how horrible a job petey has done recruiting the O line lately. That used to be your bread and butter!

Now it's probably your biggest weakness.
barkley isn't going to have long to get rid of the ball, and our front 7 is mean, fast, strong, experienced, deep, and hungry to thrash the trojans.
That is if barkley hasn't been injured already before we play.

How weird is it to be stoked about the front 7 again guys?

There will be a Wood lighting it up, Cierre Wood. I see him running roughshot over that D.

Our secondary isn't deep with experience behind the starters but the starters may be the strength of the team. Blanton and Gray are really good. I think Motta will improve and Slaughter is waiting for his chance. Smith is already a household name to Notre Dame fans and opponents. I think the guys in the back are going to make it a lot easier on the fellas up front and I expect to see our sack totals increase quite a bit. It is nice knowing that the D line is a strength, haven't been able to say that in a very long time. I think we should improve accross the board since everyone starting has either started before or had a plenty of playing time. That should help the offense a bunch. We have to come out swinging though. USF isn't La. Tech or Oregon State, they have players. They also have a mobile QB and that should help us with shoelace later. We have a schedule that should help us move up the rankings, we just have to win. I think we have more than caught up with USC as far as talent goes and we finally have some depth. Should be a good game against them and both should be an improved version from last year, can't use the new coach, new scheme excuse for either school any longer. I think we win the game comfortably as long as we don't turn it over like we did last year. That is the only reason they stayed in the game. They might not be USC from a few years back but they still have plenty of talent to make you pay if you lose focus. I think we have more play makers on both sides of the ball now and having them on both sides is soooooooooo nice. Go Irish, beat USF!

Answer: Short drops by an experienced Heisman candidate QB to one of the most talented WR core in the country. And when your D cheats on their line bumps, we either stop and go for quick strike 15 yard gains or delay draw to our extremely talented back field. You guys like to talk about depth but the truth of it is the talent of the select star players that wins college football games. USC has more "talent" players then Notre Dame!
