Several veteran wide receivers should tempt Chicago Bears

Full story: Chicago Tribune

It is much easier to find a wide receiver than it is a quarterback, luckily for the Bears .

Dan have you lost your mind? Massaquoi is a projected 5th round pick. Not to mention he runs brutal routs. The Bears run a WCO, it's all about the routs and timming. Not to mention he has hammer hands and YAC are horrible. Are you kidding me, have you ever seen what kind of recievers do best in a WCO. This guy is screaming bust.

Here is a scouting report on him.
Horrendous route runner ... Not tough and scared to go over the middle ... Terrible hands and drops passes ... Pathetic production statistically until late in his senior year (with one of the best quarterbacks in the country)... Scrawny frame ... Does not show anything in terms of YAC despite great athleticism ... Did not improve much over college career in terms of technique ... Does not play hard ... Does not attack the football ... Does not show a love for the game on the field ... Not going to block.

The Bears need to do some EXTRA homework on any and all wide receivers, Holt, would be nice, but they need to find a diamond in the draft, no matter the round. This position does need an upgrade.

I like Robiskie a lot. He caught the ball well in traffic during his college career. Any knuckle head can catch a ball in blown coverage in College but he earned his catches for the most part.

The bears should bring back Marty Booker, he is a servicable wide receiver. I do not know why they gave up on the reciever out of Oklahoma.

Booker is done, and Mark Bradley was rarely healthy.

Everyone is saying they NEED to draft a WR with that pick, but the team has equal needs at safety and on the DL.

They should go defense -- unless a first-round talent drops -- and then go with one of those guys, or a player like Derrick Williams from PSU with the third.

As someone mentioned, those guys are not all going in the second.

And really, given their needs and the drop-off in talent, I wouldn't mind trading down to get another third and a fourth, if possible.

From about 40 onward through the end of the third, the talent is pretty much similar.

Ronald Curry wouldn't cost much and would be dynamic with Hester.

Looking at the past deals, two first round picks plus are the going rate, and most of those guys were much older, or just receivers, so I don't see how some people say the Bears overpaid.

To the draft, I believe we should grab at least one player, more likely two free agent wide receivers, and grab the safety in the second, unless someone falls to us. I would think the Bears got a whole lot more interesting to the receivers out there.

I think the Bears should give guys a chance. They draft people and acquire WR's through free agency and then don't give them a chance during game time. Some players shine during games. Did we ever see Haas or enough of Bennett. Booker rarely got the ball thrown his way. Everybody talks about the receivers. I think the problem is more protection and the accuracy of the QB. Yes, they dropped alot of passes but that's cause they were surprised the ball was actually being thrown their way.

I don't know if it's just me but I thought Brandon Lloyd was playing well before he got hurt. He never played with a good qb in his pro career.

The Bears should give up a second rounder to the Saints for Lance Moore. Think about it, the Bears could get a really good up and coming receiver instead of taking a chance on drafting one.

Sign plaxico Burress please, so he thought he had a constitutional right to bear arms, maybe he did'nt want to be caught in a robery like Taylor the safety from washington who had a mechettie at a gunfight and died. His size would be the perfect compliment to Hester and Bennet, Also, don't count out Bennet,I watched his college highlights where he had more yards in three years then four year starters with Cutler throwing to him. I expect big things from bennet and doubt any rookie would beat him out this year unless one of the top three freefall. Getting Burris would let us take the best athlete in round two, hopefully safety or D-line. God bless you Jerry Angelo,I take back every bad thing I said about you.

Cutler's a beiotch. Why is everybody making such a big deal about a quarterback that has never proved anything. He sucked in denver and he'll suck with the bears.

Perhaps Bennett will show something this year with Cutler, his college QB. throwing to him.
