has any one ever noticed that lovie smith after every Bears win in his press conference starts with saying "we talk about starting fast" and after every loss he starts by saying "when you turn the ball over".I think my parrot has a broader and more expanded vocabulary than this guy.

I am waiting for the first time that Forte does not put up his usual numbers. That's when some fans are going to say get rid of him he is a bum, like they do with all the rest of the Bears. There is no pleasing some fans.
In my opinion Forte has a glowing future to go along with his stellar Rookie year he has put together with the Bears. The Bears can thank him for any wins they have because of his versatility. A RB like that makes a QB job much easier. Put a real good blocking offensive line in front of him and the sky is the limit.
It is surely a great change from Salaam and Enis in the Backfield. I began to wonder if they were ever going to find another Running Back.

Marcus Allen is who he reminds me of noticing his upright running. What a breath of fresh air Matt has brought to a Ho Hum season with a weekly out coached Bears staff.
A true Pro Back that acts years beyond his young age.

Now sign 2 real receivers (Plaxico and Boldin) and give this kid a chance to be even greater.

Good comparison. I was thinking Chuck Foreman.

If we get two great receivers we are Superbowl bound. The combination of Matt Forte and Kyle Orton just pushed us years ahead in terms of team building. The much maligned O-line has been solid. The D needs some help but is fixable. Pay a free agent a boat load of cash and draft a great college kid and we are in baby!!!
(Even with dumb coaches)

Even though this season has been rough it isn't over. Just remind our receiving clowns to catch the freakin' ball!

Yep, great story Haugh. Another example of the unique insight I've come to expect from you; I hadn't noticed Forte is a good player.

With all the praises I hope Jerry Angelo will build around Forte. Kyle Orton is efficient. Bear 2 tight ends are good to have. Please draft 2 good not decent wide receivers. Use your backup rb once in a while and also keep drafting offensive linemen.

I don't think we need to draft anymore WRs for a while. I say we take a chance on a young and big WR like Boldin or maybe Ocho Cinco. We have not had much success with the judgment of our current WRs. Our 2 best are converted WRs that were CBs originally. We need at least one already established WR that we can work with. And yes, Mel is right. Keep drafting o-linemen.

On another note, I can't to start seeing less of Des Clark and more of Davis. Clark is okay but aging. The sooner we get Davis in the mix more, we'll be able to take advantage of that 6'7" frame in run support and in goal line situations. Davis and Olsen are the future of our team at their position.

GO BEARS!!! NFC NORTH CHAMPIONS!!!

Before the Bears do anything, I think they need to draft a couple of O-linemen. I don't like the way the present o-line can't move the line of scrimmage at times. I also would like to see some REAL receivers on the roster in "09". Bears management really put the "08" team at a disadvantage by FAILILNG to replace Berrian and Muhammed with "adequate" replacements. I have never seen a team so deficient at the reciever position.
Haugh, why the Bears refuse to activate the RB we got from the Lions is ALSO A MYSTERY to me as well. Forte needs a "decent" backup, a threat if you will. did you see the pass drop Peterson had against the Vikes??? JUST BRUTAL.

Fellow Bear fans please join me in the chants of "Anquan Boldin!! Anquan Boldin!!" at the Soldier Field and at the practice fields of Borbannis. If we start EARLY and TOGETHER we might still be able to convince Jerry Angelo. Matt Forte as RB and Boldin as WR will be a force to reckon.

Please dont waste your breath in booing the coaching staff or something. Do something productive.

ANQUAAAAN BOLDIN!! ANQUAAAN BOLDIN

(the chant even has a nice ring to it)

Forte and Orton will do the job. Tight-ends will do the job. Improve the O-line, get even one go to reciever and we are in. We have some guys at reciever waiting for a chance,Rideau, Hass, Bennett, come on why are they not getting a chance? The coaching and its lack of knowledge when it comes to recognizing talent is awful, and when they do have talent on the team..they ruin it. Get rid of the coaches, top to bottom

Just hope and pray that "Tweedle Lovie Dumb" and "Tweedle Turner Dee" don't burn the kid out. If ever there was a coaching staff that didn't have a clue how to use their talent, its these two schmucks.
Have to say, evry time Forte touches the ball, our offence gets exciting.
Go for it Matt!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Matt Forte on the street. It was downtown and he was with his mother. He looked medium sore. While it is hard to explain I but when you look it Matt Forte's eyes you can tell the most important things in his life are providing for his family and running the football. When I met Cedric Benson it seemed like he was most concerned with living the lavish life of an NFL superstar. Thomas Jones however truly looked hungry and mean when I met him at a benefit.
People talk about Jerry Angelo's failed draft choices but clearly his biggest blunder was trading Jones who was the quitest and hardest worker I have ever seen. Reporters would talk about being out at bars in Burbonois with players and Thomas Jones would still be in the weight room working on his biceps. No one talks about it but Angelo's most glaring failure as a GM is trading Jones to make room for Benson. Imagine Forte and Jones in the backfeild. Just Imagine

Could not agree more about Thomas Jones. He had dealt with adversity in Arizona. So he knew the importance of getting a second chance. The biggest mistake was drafting Cedric Benson at number 4. That forced Angelo's hand in trading away Thomas Jones. One mistake was compounded by another.

What I like about Forte is that he is a bigger, better and younger version of Thomas Jones. He can turn the corner, outrun defensive backs, catches the ball well enough to be split out wide and his role in pass protection is a bonus.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
