Joe's woes

Looks alot like Boller. The offense looks alot like Billick's. The defense is ok, but I still think Ryan is overrated. Bart Scott has turned into a fat boy. These back up corners are Division 1-AA caliber. They need to pay Ray just for the pain and suffering this franchise's offense has caused him. All this adds up to another losing season. Ozzie needed to go when his boy Billick did! Two more issues. When Billick came here, he was supposed to be an offensive genius. When Harbaugh came here, he was supposed to be a special teams guru. If that's the case, then why did the offense suffer for all those years? And it looks like the same thing is happening to special teams. Maybe the upper brass needs to rethink their hiring practices.

Damn Ravens need offensive line. Especially on left side. Buying Flacco 1 more second in pocket could make all difference in the world. He is a rookie and progressing. Its just painfull to see 08 slowly going down the road to top 5 draft. Thats the bright side, but I ain't thinkin that till Jan

Flacco will take a few years, like any other QB. So everyone needs to be patient while he gets on the job training. Once again you have a Super Bowl defense (when healthy) and a toilet bowl offense. By the time Flacco develops your defense will be retired, Lewis, McCalister, Rolle, Pryce, Gregg, Reed ( he might get another season with that neck). Then your defense will have huge holes and you will just have an average offense and the Ravens will become the Orioles. They were always close with that D but they were just out of sync. with O and D balance. Receivers and QBs have always been your heel, the organization could just never draft or aquire either. (They were always a bust)

Peyton Manning had a bad first year in the NFL. Flacco needs this first year and then everyone can critcize.

Can we PLEASE end this pull Flacco discussion. I know you need topics to write about but come on. 1) The Ravens were never " a quarterback away" from the Super Bowl this season, 2) As mentioned in the article, he has ZERO playmakers (deep or otherwise), 3) He has the youngest (or 2nd youngest) O-line in the game (which is not healthy), and 4) HE's MAKING HIS 5TH START!. For pete's sake, the Super Bowl MVP just threw 3 picks last night against the Browns...it happens! He had 2 decent games and now 2 not so decent games. Its called the learning process. Now if you want to make the case that he shouldn't be starting because you don't want him to get crushed behind a young and now injured O-line, that's another story. But this kid clearly has the tools (anyone remember the role out left, then right, laser throw to Mason against Pittsburgh?) and the mental make-up to be a very good QB in this league.

Oh all he has to do is develop big plays. You need a cast of big playmakers to accomplish that. Like maybe a WR!

Well I guess I will have to revise my prediction of the number of Raven wins this year from 5 to 4 after the Browns beat the Giants last night.The Orioles 11 year losing streak you can blame on Angelos,but the Ravens,I don't think they would know a good QB if he came up and bit them on the a--.Flacco looked like a scared deer in the head lights of a car on Sunday.

For crying out loud; take a chill pill. Did everyone really expect a rookie QB to be perfect. Very seldom wukk that happen. This is a learning process not only for Flacco but for all the coaches and players. This is a reorganization phase; don't expect too much this season. Wait until next season to start moaning and groaning if there is no improvement.

Everyone talks about how good Peyton & Eli Manning are now. At the start of last season the fans were ready to throw Eli to the wolves; then he won a Superbowl. It took how many seasons for Eli to come into his own? Sit back, relax, enjoy the ride and watch a talent grow.

Harbaugh should be standing by Flacco! QB's have good days and bad days, just look at Eli Manning who threw 3 interceptions last night!

This is only his 5th start - every QB makes mistakes, we can only ask that he learns from those mistakes. The Ravens also need to provide him with the tools, a dependable running game, breakout recievers, and O-line protection which we have not had in the last few games.

It's like we are asking a guy fresh out of college to be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company but only giving him a typewriter and a rotary phone.

There are going to be some bumps in the road but I think that if we support Flacco and give him the proper amount of time to develop we will be in good shape in the future.

Here we go, another uneducated fan overreacting. Flacco will be fine as long as people give him time. There were much more accomplished QBs that had games just as bad as Flacco. Eli Manning, Jake Delhomme, to name a couple and they have a much better line and receivers. Look at Russell in Oakland, Flacco has better stats them him. It took Drew Brees three years of playing until he turned the corner. Unless your educated about the game of football please don't post this garbage on here. The positive to take out of the game is that both Flacco and Rice got plenty of experience in the second half and Flacco was very accurate if you take away the picks. Most young QBs throw a ton of picks. What you need to look for is his completion percentage. As he gets more experience reading safeties he will eliminate the picks.

iam for joe flacco ( a troy smith fan). i think it was ill advised of coach to come out publicly and say iam going with joe the rest of the year.what happens when we are near winning and the guy continues to average three interceptions which cost us each game. tank the hold season or try something new.the next best guy. go ravens.

I know he has only, one td pass, but how many times have they passed inside the red zone. I have seen all of the games, and I think he has only thrown into the end zone twice, a td against pitt. and a dropped pass by Heap against the Bengals. Did anyone see Eli last night, or Romo on sunday. Relax he will develop.

Wow I didn't know that the key to the Raven's success was only on the shoulders of the QB! Hmmm...I guess it doesn't matter that the O-Line wouldn't be able to stop my grandmother, or that the running game was non-existant, or that special teams did nothing but get creamed at the 10 yard line.

Troy Smith is not going to make us a winning team. You don't commit to a number one draft pick QB and then bench him for a fringe NFL/CFL player like Smith. This isn't the Derek Anderson/Brady Quinn situation. If Smith comes in it will delay Flacco's development and delay when we will become a winning team. We have to draft or trade for a tall number one receiver and let them develop.

You mean the Atlanta rookie with the number one rated running back in the NFL and the number one receiver that had 1200 yds last year with Chris Redman throwing him the ball. Matt Ryan's second receiver, Mike Jenkins, is better then any of our receivers not named Mason. For every Matt Ryan there are 5 other rookie Qbs that take time to develop. The Ravens would have taken Ryan if they drafted that high. Everyone knew that Flacco would take time to develop when he was drafted but now all of a sudden everyone is panicking. It's stupid.

1. Flacco has not averaged three interceptions each game.
2. The Steelers and Titans loss was due mainly to a collapse on defense started by stupid penalties. In fact the offense dominated the clock in both those games.
3. The Ravens were not close to winning the Indy game. The three interceptions are partly to blame, but in fact the turnovers only resulted in 3 of Indy's points. Payton was able to pick apart our secondary and make some big plays.

I'm not trying to say that Flacco is perfect - he is not by far. But you have to realize that all these losses were team losses and not the result of one person.

I LOVE this analogy...its perfect. And I agree with George from Ft. Meade, please no comparisons to the tools around Ryan and the "tools" around Flacco.

I love it. Typical Baltimorons, this kid goes in to Pittsburgh and loses in OT and everyone is saying he is the second coming of Big Ben. Now, most want him benched. Face it, without Flacco you were a very bad team with no future. With him you are a bad team with a future. Thank god for disfunctional teams and fans, another Steelers divison title.

LOL at all the morons that expected the Ravens to win a bunch of games this year. Already throwing the coach and the rookie QB under the bus. Wise up morons...this is a rebuilding year. We're a 5-11 team at best.
