Bears GM Angelo hopeful Hester will sign

In case anybody at training camp was starting to miss Devin Hester , wide receiver Rashied Davis did his best Thursday to ease the pain.

Fans who actually know the names of the Bears' roster will be able to identify Rashied Davis as an underrated WR that has and will continue making huge plays if he is given the opportunity. He is considered as a slot receiver because of his size (5-9). But guess what, Steve Smith is also 5-9 and is the Panthers' No. 1 receiver. I am not saying Davis has Smith's abilities, but Davis is now a far better receiver than Hester. The Bears' coaching staff have to (I mean they MUST) give one of the two starting WR positions to Davis. The formula shall be Davis-?(Booker, Floyd, Hester, Bradley, Hass...)

I'm with Bigbear - I don't believe that the Bears front office is a dumb as everybody thinks.

They have guys who can actully catch the ball = how many were dropped last year?

Devin is good, but has not shown that he is a No. 1 receiver ~ Miami couldn't make him a receiver, why would the Bears succeed now??

The Bears go 11-5 this year, win the division, and suprise all of you in the playoffs... We have a quality team...

I would personally like to see an effort... an effort... to go after Brett Favre and forget Devin Hester's contract issue. Unproven at the position, failed at it in college, and nowhere near the same situation as Urlacher.

Hester might be making a large mistake right now by asking for a new contract. Because at this point all the Bears management can do is look at the returns that he has. If he wanted to get paid like a top teir receiver he would be better off showing he can be one to get that contract. In the end I think Hester will actually lose monet long term by asking for a contract now.
