Jack, that was a funny line.

But this is no joking matter. What the FORK was he thinking? Or does he have an IQ of Britney Spears? This gives Beck and Henne a huge advantage when training camp opens.

This may be the dumbest accident on the history of the planet. And how this accident has been kept from Dolfans for TWO WEEKS is beyond me. All the sports writers and bloggers have been asleep at the wheel on this major development.

That's right. There isn't anyway McCown is going to be able to throw for another month. He'd be out the entire pre-season and I don't consider him to be of the caliber to be able to miss all of training camp and then just jump in and be the starter. Sign Farve to a 1 year,$6 mil deal and let him show Beck and Henne the ropes. I also beleive Henne was a steal. Cutting/releasing McCown is gonna happen.

No need to throw in the towel on McCown yet, guys. Wait and see how bad it is and what happens when camp opens. In the event it does set him back, it may be a blessing in disguise since it'll accelerate the work for Beck and Henne from the get-go.

I totally agree. Give Henne some time, and he will become a good QB in this league. He has the size and the skills to play the position, and to get better as he gets older.

McCown is not the answer IMO.

Maybe I'm really missing something here, but the only way it makes any sense to me to bring Favre in for 1 yr would be if the Fins were one player away from a SB berth. Obviously, they aren't. So even if Favre were brought in, at most you'd only a couple more games even if all went extremely well. Keep in mind that Parcells and Co. want to play power football, which isn't Brett's game and he'd also have to learn a totally new offense. I don't think the transition would be as smooth as you assume. Additionally, this is a guy who won't even change clothes in the lockerroom with the rest of his team. Sound good for morale? Sound like he'd really be into tutoring Beck and Henne? Not to me. And finally, unless he's released, which isn't likely, the Fins would have to pick up his 12 mill. contract.

Any time given to Favre or another veteran (even McCown) is just going to mean less game experience for Beck and Henne.

$6 million contract as a professional athlete... and he's out there risking it playing lumberjack with his brother.

I know you like to feel like you are still the same -- but you aren't.

You might as well get Dan Marino on the phone too if you're going to do that. He's been on the nutrisystem diet.

Daily Horoscope for December 12

Gemini

If you were planning to get a lot done today you'd better lock yourself away from every other living soul. That's because it's a day when everyone you meet is immensely chatty, and you're also in a garrulous frame of mind. It's fine if you don't have anything else to do, but it will be frustrating if you're trying to get on with the chores and you keep being interrupted. Try to be considerate if someone else is up to their eyes in work and you're holding them up.
