Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Unless Dolphins coach Tony Sparano decides to bench the No. 1 quarterback on his tentative depth chart for Saturday's exhibition opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , it seems likely that Josh McCown will ...

I can't claim to have originated this idea ,but the Dolphins can be be a middle-man to an NFC North team and acquire B.Favre for say,a high 3rd round pick and turn around and trade him for a 2nd-rounder to a team on the Pack's blacklist.

Y would you want Brett Favre? He's done and the Dolphins are just beginning. It doesn't make sense.

I don't want drama queen Favre. The Favre network (ESPN) should pick him up.

I can't see Dolphins management doing the backstab to the Packers organization that way though. That would create a lot of bad blood between the organizations which could end up hurting the Dolphins down the road if they want to trade with Green Bay again.

...Although, it may be a way to thwart the Jets' efforts at trading for Favre and keep him out of the AFC East.

Actually, I think Favre going to the Jets could actually help the Dolphins in the long term. The Jets win a couple more games this season which is "Fool's Gold", but it hampers the development of their younger QBs, hurts their draft position in the 2009 draft, and when Favre retire, un-retires, retires, and then un-retires next year, it'll screw up the Jets organization much like it has the Packers this off season.

Glad the g etts are forfiting their future,so they can't contend with us in 2010!! Would have prefered it take place after wk 1,and I wish he'd of gone to TB,so we wouldn't have to deal with the story for another F ing yr!!! Just another reason to be even more disgusted with him,and the way he's minimized the excitement of the upcoming season!!!!

The very first sentence of this story tells me it's sensational.
Sparano specifically said NOT to read much into the depth chart since it was set based on seniority. You know very well HF that the word "benching" comes with all sorts of negative stigma and you challenged Sparano to do something sensational in this article by "Benching" McCown.

Horrible. There's only one beat writer for the fins that deserves any respect nowadays, and it's NOT the guy at the Sen with the most seniority.

Shame shame.

I can't wait to watch Farvre against the Dolphins. I'm intune with Brett and he can throw 4 TD's or throw 4 INT's, he most likely will have a rough start. He is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He'll have some trouble starting and like I said he has hick ups and that won't change.

This is a good move by the JETS for the short run. Brett will energize the Jets and then they will fall and be crushed to the point of no return. They have already over spent and now they have set themselves up for a major disaster.

In the long run they have nothing!

Funny... cuz when Dolphin fans were talking about getting Farve .. they were saying how he could help their young QB's. But of course now that he's a Jet he'll HURT young QB's.

The jets were going to dump Pennington early on... but felt that Clemens wasn't reliable enough.

And don't talk about Retires... Un-retires... Retires without mentioning Mr. Parcells in the same post.

Hmmmmm.... One pass away from going to the SuperBowl last season against the Giants, versus coming off a 1-15 season with Beck... McCown ... Henne and no worthy Dolphin receivers and a terrible Dolphin secondary.... not to mention no Taylor or Thomas.

I too can't wait for Farve against the Dolphins either. But then I couldn't wait for Pennington against the Dolphins! LOL!

AND IN THE LONG RUN YOU HAVE?... Bill Parcells retiring again. Ricky failing another drug test. another botched draft. Hasn't this been the case for about 20 years now?

Favre coming off one of his best seasons in 2007, throwing for 4,155 passing yards, 28 TDs, 15 INTs and career-highs in both completion percentage (66.5 percent) and yards per attempt (7.8).

The jets are giving up conditional fourth-round pick that can escalate to a No. 2 depending on how far Farve takes them. Why would the Jets be crushed for the future based on this scenario?

The Dolphins could have had Farve ... Parcells loves to bring in that older Veteran QB. Yet they didn't do it. It's certainly better than brining in a Concussioned Green or a disabled Dante!

Your talk sound like sour grapes if you ask me.

Greg,

I've long stopped wondering why you post here, obviously I never understood it, yet FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR RIGHT TO DO SO.

But I'm projecting what I'd do if I were a Jets fan right now:

I'd go to a jets board and celebrate with my fellow jet fans.

I guess the fin fans can take it as a compliment that you'd prefer to share this HOFer signing with them vs. with your fellow jet fans.

Hope all is well...regards.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Leo

Be choosy about who you spend time with today. If you're with someone who's habitually miserable or sorry for themselves, you'll soon be dragged down to their level and will struggle to recover again. However, you may feel such sympathy for their plight that you don't see you have any choice but to be with them. If so, do your best to remain positive.
