Izzo was a heck of a special teams player. The key word here is WAS. I love how I keep reading about the jets picking up all these free agents and castoffs with no rhyme or reason and paying them top dollar. Please jets, keep this up! You're like the Washington Redskins version 2.0!
When Izzo said "I'm very familiar with the Jets' incredibly loyal, knowledgeable and passionate fans and this is an amazing chance to work hard and make them proud" I almost wet my pants I was laughing so hard. Loyal jets fans? You mean like the ones that instantly become Giants fans when the jets are eliminated from the playoffs? Knowledgeable? Just read the comments from people like jet fan, greg, Roger/Mike, etc. and the other bung-holes who come onto these sports threads, especially the threads from stories about the Dolphins, and post the most mindless, repetitive, and lame postings from any fans of any team in the NFL. Passionate? These are the same fans who STILL don't understand that we beat them last year and knocked them into third place. That's not passion it's stupidity. The only reason Izzo is still in the NFL is because of steriods. He would have been cut 5 years ago. No one plays 14 season as a career special teams player.

Still can't comprehend that fact through your blind NY hatred huh? It dosen't matter anyway, the Dolphins were smoked the following week proving they didn't belong in the playoffs either... Funny, everybody loved Izzo when he was on Miami, now that he's played for the Patriots and signed with the Jets he's just a bum......had Miami re-signed him he'd be a 'great special teamer'. Typical dolphin nonsense. I know, I know, the Jets haven't won a SB since 1969, Dolphins #1, blah blah blah. Just remember since, 1973 both the Jets and Dolphins have not won a truly meaningful game. We also understand that we made the playoffs while the jets watched on TV. The Ravens won because they outplayed us. Plain and simple. The same reason we beat you guys in December. I respect the Ravens AND their fans. Unlike jets fans. You guys just can't stomach the FACT that Miami beat you. That Miami made it to the playoffs when you didn't. That the QB you cut came back and proved he was better than the overpriced underachiever that you masturbated over all year long. Blah blah blah. I stated FACTS too. I realize Miami's win over the Jets clinched the AFC East for them.(In a way I'm glad, if the Jets won the Patriots would have won the East) All I pointed out was that a Jets victory would have done nothing for the Jets. Forgoet that elimiantion stuff. The Jets eliminated themselves by playing bad football the last 5 weeks. Favre ran out of gas. It was a risk and it didn't pan out. Big deal. At least they tried. 2008 ended without either the Jets or Dolphins winning the big one, the same way the past 35 years have ended. That's another fact.... The Dolphins played in the Super Bowl is what happened, and a play here or a play there would have won it. And I was at an age where it was such a big deal and was great having my team play in such a big game. Not too bad, I'd say. What did you, Richard Todd, Mark Gastineau, Fireman Ed, and every other Jets fan do that weekend? Answer: the same thing they've done every Super Bowl weekend since 1970. You think true Cardinals fans (if there are any), didn't have an incredible experience this SuperBowl? Better than we did. |
