Farewell & best wishes to a true class act. Although he wore #4, Brett Favre will always be #1 to Cheesehead fans. For a quarterback to play 18 seasons in the frozen tundra known as Lambeau field takes survival & guts. yes I know Bart Starr won 5 championships to Favre's 1, but still you can't take away what he's done. Best wishes in your retirement #4 & can't wait for the day you're enshrined in Canton as one of the NFL's best QB's.

How anyone can criticize a player who always conducted himself with dignity and class, was tremendously successful, fulfilled his obligation to fans (especially children) and exuded warmth and a pure love of the game is beyond me. This is not about what team you root for and all that ridiculous stuff...it's about the end of a wonderful career and the exit of a genuine person. Too bad some can't accept that

Wrong again but even if I was a fan of those SD teams its out of loyalty. The easiest thing to do is being a Yankee/Cowgirl fan. Try being a fan of the Rays or Lions. BTW, who is your Basketball team? I'm sure it's not the Knicks...Also, just having some friendly banter but if must resort to name calling, I guess you have no other recourse.

OK we have had 3 days of the Brett Favre tributes on ESPN and NFL Network. Can this finally be over, please? What is this fascination people have with athletes? He retired, good for him. Stop living your lives vicariously through athletes. He made millions, you didn't.

The Packers top brass didn't want Brett back anyway so I think he was forced to retire a year too early.
