Umm.....?

Easy to take over a Championship winning
team with a stable QB, awesome defense and
so so running game.

Childress would have taken that team to the
superbowl!

Look at the other teams with top notch coaches
and no franchise QB or defense.....ready to be
fired over and over again!

Whatever, just another in a long line of coaches that have gone through our organization then went to another team and won a SB while we hang onto coaches like Tice, Green, Childress...

Man we could of had Dungy, Billick, Tomlin...

The good people of Pittsburg will be singing a different tune when we whup em like a rented mule come Sunday. WOOOOOOWEEEEEE!!! Tomlin is probably a nice guy but he is still too young to know if he is for real or a flash in the pan. Ask Tony Dungy what he thinks of Tomlin. I believe whatever Tony says. Period.

You forgot to mention this on Dungy,Billick & Tomlin:

Dungy: Peyton Manning!

Billick: A stellar kick-ass Defense

Tomlin: Big Ben Plus already won 1 superbowl w/same players

Dungy or Tomlin I would take. Billick, no thanks there is a reason he is not coaching. He only won the Super Bowl because the defense was already there, just like Gruden taking over for Dungy in Tampa Bay.

Tomlin is a great coach, and will be for many years. It's too damn bad we did not get the opportunity to make him a Vikings coach. I am OK with coach Childress, but I hold my reservations about him until the play-offs. Go Vikings!

Dungy also played/coached in Pittsburgh as well.

Point is, great coaches come from all over the place and have usually worked for several teams.

very true but it takes a great owner to make a team work. point in case: rooneys and 3 coaches for the past 40 years, too many division titles to count and 6 lombardis...really really shiny and bright lombardis...lol!

Second biggest mistake Wilf made was letting Tomlin get away.

certainly! Ownership is a must...too many owners hire a coach and then give up too quickly, sometimes it takes some patience to build something. Some owners can be too trigger happy (ie, Danny Boy Snyder).

Tomlin - Won one SB, won one division crown as Steelers HC, excelled as DC for the Vikes and secondary coach for the Bucs.

Childress - Excelled as OC for the Eagles.

Hmm, looks like you don't have a leg to stand on. BTW, what DOES Tony Dungy think of Tomlin? That he's an exceptional motivator with amazing football knowledge. That's supposed to support your contention that he may not be any good?

I don't expect the Vikes to beat Pittsburgh but hopefully they'll play as if they belong on the same field with the Steelers.
