Full story: Grand Rapids Press

Calvin Johnson, left, and Kevin Smith are two of the few players who would return if Brian VanOchten was the Detroit Lions' general manager.

i agree with most although the o-line i would keep peterman...he has a mean streak that i like.. raiola has to go tomany times guys run right thru him.mcdonald and furrey can go keep kitna and culpepper for this year.redding and sims need to go for sure over paid underachievers.standeford and colbert are good 3rd and 4th recievers worth the price to keep them.drew stanton needs to stay and let the new coach develop him he got a bad rap from a very bad offensive coach.d-line keep fluellen and cohen again they need developing from a real coach and have worth as back ups at least.leigh bodden is going to make to much money if they keep him it would be for alot less..he will have a better year with a good pass rush.

WOW. Alright first on my hit list is you for making something so rediculous as your list is. Like Trump says YOUR FIRED. One there are a few players on your KEEP LIST that should go. Like as in Jared DeVries, Corey Smith, and Travis Fisher. These guys put up nothing at all worth keeping, we've had DeVries for years and he's done nothing but been a back up and he had his shot and didn't do all that much. Same with Smith and Fisher.
The ones that you are GETTING RID OF that should stay. Rudi Johnson, John Standeford, Dan Campbell, Stephen Peterman, Langston Moore, and Kalvin Pearson. You don't get rid of a decent back up running back. You don't drop a WR that was showing good hands and route running. You don't drop a TE, well maybe I might be wrong on him, he's been on the IR for 2 years. Peterman was the only guard that did anything and hardly had any calls on him. Moore is a decent back up for who ever we bring in. and Pearson is one of the DB's that actully didn't give up on plays. There is no need to bring in a "franchise player" when he has all the makings of another Joey Harrington. NO REASON!!! We have Orlovsky, Stanton, and Kitna still. Kitna might be out but Stanton is a second round pick and once being coached and given the chance he could be great. Orlovsky has proven himself to me and I'm glad he was givin the chance. We need a defense to keep the other team out of the endzone. Look at the facts we were able to put points up and make huge come backs after being down by twenty in the first half. If there is a DEFENSE present to keep the other team from scoring, then we got our selfs some winners. Like I said you have no idea what your talking about and you don't watch Lions football. If you did you'd know where our really problems lay and not what the MEDIA says. The angry Detroiter rests his case.
