Baltimore and Pittsburgh are similar cities. They have the same historical immigration , Polish, Itailian, Slavic, Greek, etc. with the same ethnic history. The accents are the same. I actually see no difference in either city, only one is a little colder. I lived in Balt. for a while, I didn't fit in though, no place for a Southern boy. Became a big Ray lewis and Ravens fan though, there is something that makes you feel alienated when people don't have the same dialect and manners, and when you order sweet tea people look at you like your from mars. Few women in Maryland prefer "yes mam" they said it makes them feel old, I was corrected many times for that one.

I don't think Baltimore fans are selling their tickets to Steeler fans. Maryland has a huge population of transplants from Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. When I first moved there I had a hard time finding an actual "local". I was suprised at the amount of transplants in Maryland. My first year there I attended an Orioles game only to find mainly Yankee fans there. Atlanta is similar in that respect, there are few locals in Atlanta, it's like Florida, everyone is a transplant from up north. I think your Steeler fans are living among you....watch out..

Although a great rookie QB, I think the Steelers will have some new wrinkles for Mr. Flacco that will cause some interceptions

First thing in the morning and I'm writing this blog, are you kidding me??Well,it's true and I can only watch the game on tv and probably hear some assinine comments from the national broadcasters but the challenge is before us,now,so let's say we play the game and enjoy any world peace that's holding during this holiday season. Thanks for a nice article and may coach Harbaugh coach a fine game along with his valuable coordinators and would'nt it be even nicer to see Hines Ward dumped on his arse a few times on camera and a Raven just walking away like a vulture who just had a meal??

Dan, you can listen to the game via 93.5, if you can't pick up WBAL. As you can see, I also live on the shore and prefer to listen to the home guys.

As for the article, I lived in Baltimore for 60 years and never spoke like that described above. I guess that's why most fans tolerate the sin paper's writters (except Pete S). GO RAVENS

Here is the deal Boys and Girls....
Nobody, let me repeat, there is not team that has anything left for the
RAVENS!!!!!We have played hurt and short handed all year and it comes down to this? The Steelers are going to try and stop the RAVENS, when in fact the RAVENS can smell the blood Boy! They can see where they have to get to! The RAVENS are in the final turn of a 16 week race! And now the Doomsdayers are sayin' the RAVENS don't have enough to finish? Please, in my humble opinion, This team is hungrier Than any RAVENS team in the past! They are going to do what ever they have to, to WIN!!! Any cost, Anything, Anybody, Please those of you who are faint of heart or who have conditions that may lead to haveing to be hospitalized, because of the carnage left on the field by the RAVENS ,please shield your eyes!
"CAUSE IT IS ABOUT TO GET UGLY"!!!

!!!!!!!!!!GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!

I am a Steeler fan who has a great deal of respect for the Ravens. I can't stand them, but I do respect them. This article though is complete garbage. At least it seems that most of you realize it. It's nice that the sun writer grudgingly gives some advantages to the Steelers. Jeez, what a homer.

After reading your comment about Steelers fans ("who infiltrate stadiums around the league like no others"), I envisioned cockroaches coming out of the woodwork. I couldn't think of a better description for the Steeler Stooges.

What could be better, My favorite college football team, University of Delaware and their quarterback Joe Flacco gets drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft to my favorite NFL team, the Baltimore Ravens. I'm the same Jim from the previous board from AOL. Live only three traffic lights from Tubby Raymond Stadium here in Newark, Delaware and the Blue Hens fans can't wait for this one. Two traffic lights away is where you can get genuine NFL Joe Flacco Jerseys for only $50.00 at Malin's Market on Route 896, great bargain and many other jerseys to choose from. Now again can we all say in unison, "Are You Ready For Some Football"? Destroy Pittsburgh!

I would take Polamalu over Reed. He is more of a complete player. He has 86 tackles to Reed's 26.

For you beer lovers out there, the article should have mentioned that there is a micro brewery beer in Baltimore called "The Raven." It's far superior to either National Boh or Iron City. If you can find it it's well worth the purchase.

Prediction: Ravens will win by at least 10 today.

Johnny Unitas, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Ed Kelly,(all hall of famers) all Pittsbugh boys, born and raised, just the quarterbacks, of which there are many more at different poitions. Its no wonder why Pa. leads any other state in Hall of fame Players. Johnny Unitas was the last real talent to play in Baltimore!!!!!! Which is the real football city, not to mention the 5 superbowls the Steelers have won.
