Free agency is not a sure-fire way of making a winning team. Draft and develop still wins more championships.

But the big names are sexy... I don't think one or two big names are going to fix the Bear's problems anyway. Who are some names out there that the Bears can go after in free agency --to fill some holes? Any ideas? I'm sick of looking at Mock Drafts that can't predict the future.

What the heck is Vaughn talking about?

The Raiders resigned their CB? WHO CARES? Certainly the Bears don't!

The big news is Jordan Gross resigning with Carolina - hence the 'tagging' of Peppers.

...and ooh boy - Max Starks. The Steelers O-Line was amongst the worst in the NFL - I sure hope Jerry Angelo could have overpaid for that kind of talent.

To turn the corner, the McCaskeys should sell the Bears to Mark Cuban... he knows how to produce a winner. Short of that, replace Jerry Angelo with someone who can identify good draft prospects..like Mel Kiper Jr. Otherwise, hire a coach more in the Bears smashmouth tradition like Bill Cowher. If none of these moves are possible, spend Sunday afternoons in your local pub imitating the Cubs fans...crying in your beer.

Yeah like we ever had a chance at any of these guys remember Angelo likes to reward his own players, the bears don't believe in free agents. What a joke.

On the offensive side of the ball the Bears have loaded up on free agents, since GM Jer certainly can't draft them. The NFC Champs had five starters that were UFA signings: Thomas Jones, Moose Muhammad, John Tait, Roberto Garza and Desmond Clark.

There are quite a few 'non-big name' guys that Angelo can still bring in.

I'm just scratching my head about Vaughn bringing up the Raiders cornerback of all positions.

Time will tell, I don't expect much from the McCaskeys - after all the Bears ARE their income. With a potential lockout looming, they have to save some money for Virginia's 18 kids that sponge off of her. ;)

Bears need to get two big fat defensive tackles like they did in the old days. Remember keith traylor and ted washington? This would help clog the middle and stuff the run while also keeping the linebackers clean to make plays.

Every year the NFL draft gives Bears fans the chance to be amazed at how badly their team squanders opportunities.

Let's go 0-16 this year so we can draft Tebo next time around! That will also give anyone with a brain to clean house.

Tebow? Are you serious? Another Florida QB that's a product of the system. FL QB's suck in the NFL... How many of them have the Bear's had in the past 25 years?

If true then the bears are eliminated for many years to come.

Get the best impact player for the Bears - someone who will make everyone better aroung him - someone who the other teams gameplan around - Albert Haynesworth. With him in the middle, Tommie may actually get some sacks as well as keeping people off of Urlacher so he may get back into the elite linebacker corp w/Lance Briggs.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aries

Christmas Eve finds you happy and eager to get the most out of the day. You're in a rather sentimental mood, so if you've got time you'll relish the chance to watch a favourite film, especially if it means you've got to get out the hankies. A friend's kindness or sensitivity will delight you - and make you wonder how you can reciprocate.
