All the talk about the Dolphins carrying four quarterbacks was rendered moot Friday afternoon after they traded Josh McCown to the Carolina Panthers , according to a source.

We got rid of his contract and guaranteed money. I doubt they got anything for him since we gave up nothing to get him as an UFA. They were never going to cut either one - a trade was going to happen sooner or later. |

Its prolly a conditional pick. I would guess a 6th or 7th with depending on playing time could jump up a round. At least we got something for him. Keep collecting those draft picks, GO PHINS!!!!!!!!

Love the way the new regime works -- Yes it cost a few bucks upfront but with the emergence of Henne and the acquisition of Pennington one of the QB's was going to be expendable. Getting additional draft picks instead of cutting Beck or Mcnown will prove to be another smart move. Keeping Beck on the clipboard for another year is going to help his development.

So we got an undisclosed draft pick for Travis Daniels and another for McCown. Anyway we could package those and get a halfway decent draft pick.

To the above post that said Beck is going to beat out Henne, you either must be mentally retarded, or you haven't seen the preseason. Henne is the future Miami QB. Beck will have to go or get traded by next year.

Excellent move. As I wrote earlier today, let the kid gel as the #3, get the kinks out of the armor, and show what he can with a real year of experience on a real team.

We have a 1, two 2's, our 3,4 and 5... and 4 picks in the last 2 rounds.
I too love the new organization, althoug improving on last years roster was not difficult. We're younger, bigger and faster - umm and better! |

Beck will be gone sooner rather than later i suspect. Beck is already 27 I think while Henne is 22-23, By the time Beck is groomed he'll be almost 30. Pennington starts all year and next year it's on the other Chad.
