The kid has talent.Out of BYU...I thought he had more upside than the three QB's taken in front of him.Hopefully this change of scenery works out. It's Flacco's job - but the Ravens look deep @ QB.

Back in Mommy Cam Cam's bosom.

FALSE!!! Beck did throw a TD pass in the final game of his rookie year against Cincy.
Hey, don't blame Beck. If there is a market out there for lousy pro QBs who is willing to be career back up, why not take advantage of it! I'm sure you'd be willing to earn about a half-mil a year to just stand on the sidelines, wouldn't you? |
this guy is one of the worst busts in phins history.
a 2nd round pick that is cut after just 2 seasons.. and they tried to trade him and couldn't even get a 7th rounder for him. that should tell you what other teams think of him |
Great, who gives a schit? He was trash when he played for us and that's all that matters. Good luck to you Beck. Like a previous poster stated, I would love to make a half a million riding the bench
you or me could throw a td pass against cincy's defense. well...maybe not you. |
Maybe Beck never has/had it to be a legit NFL qb but he was setup to fail in Miami. Cameron panicked and started him way to soon playing him in tough road games in bad weather. Once he played he had no Ronnie Brown or Chris Chambers. By the time Parcells came his fate was already sealed. Again he probably doesnt have "it" but he was clearly set to fail here.

I agree with Nikolia, even though he played a communist villain on some ol' school WWF type schizt. You are doing a great job s a code enforcement officer in Baltimore County, Maryland. Do you hang w/ Beck?
Prediction. Flacco gets hurt. Beck ends up starting and beats us. We end up eating crow for not giving him a chance.
On the other hand, maybe Beck never sees an NFL field again. |
I wish the kid luck. He handled his time in Miami with class. He started 4 games. Played decent in two of them considering the talent on the rest of the team. Oh wait, there wasn't any. He started on the road in Philadelphia and wasn't terrible. Pittsburgh wasn't terrible either. Both games were in bad weather. Then he got pummeled by Buffalo and never finished his next game. I would blame the offensive line for not protecting him at all in those last two games. Actually, the offensive line was just that .......offensive. He wasn't what the new front office in Miami was looking for in a quarterback. Doesn't mean he won't be adequate for another team somewhere. Look at Rosenfels. He was 3rd. string here and he's still around. Not great, but still on a roster.
i would do that, for sure. |

Earl Morrall was in the league for 15 years mostly as a backup before he took over midseason to keep the Perfect Season alive.
Guys my age will never forget him now. Beck should be so fortunate. I wish him well. |
Nothing wrong with a backup role at the league minimum. It's the best job in the world. I'd love to do that !
Everyone quit that year even the GREAT JT. I guess that's something he can be proud about ? |
Ravens can have him! Yeah he gets rid of the ball quick, because he if fumbling the football.........
It was a typo to put an A at end. We did not have these fancy computers in my native Ukraine-but that does not mean we are a nation of weaklings. I will hang with Beck when he becomes a celebrity worthy of my companionship. |
"I don't have any bitter feelings toward what happened," Beck said. "That's life. Nobody ever walks a path that's just perfect all the way through."
Gee, what a forgiving soul. The Fins dump a 2nd rounder and $3 million beans on a guy who sucked so bad he couldn't even field a snap, and he doesn't hold a grudge? Phew, that's a relief. |
I have met John Beck several times and have always came away impressed with his actions and demeanor. I just hope the Dolphin's don't regret letting him go. I wish him success in the future.
Good luck John! |
Listen man, there is no excuse for fumbling the football like he did. Remember the Bills game when he fumbled a shotgun snap and the Bills ran it in? Please stop. |
How much do you think the immortal Ernie Wheelwright charged for the #12? And how dare Ernie Wheelwright charge the immortal John Beck for the number?
This reminds me of Jerry Rice signing with the Seahawks at the end of his career and wanting to break out Steve Larget's retired #80. I mean other than Rice and Largent being Rice and Largent; and Wheelwright and Beck being, um, Wheelwright and Beck. |
