Are you kidding me? This is bad news for Eagles fans.

wow, hope they know what they're doing....again....
What in the world are they thinking???

Sad to see him go. Hopefully he'll catch on somewhere else.

That was a stupid move. Trotter's a proven winner. Even though he's old, he still plays with intensity and is a leader on the defense. The guy made it through training camp at his age, while younger players have been hurt and are sidelined. Who are they going to have take his place? Gocong who looks terrible so far? Not a smart move.

I cant believe this move. Trotter is only 30 and in decent shape/form, and has the vertern know how that will help the Eagles go to the playoffs and maybe more. But now I guess the Eagles mgnt. are going to gamble again and the odds are much slimmer. This is typical how the Eagles Mgnt. doesn't think for the good of the team, fans, and the future. I hope and pray as a Eagles fan this move works and best luck to Trotter.

I love Trotter! I know he is old and wore down last season, but I believe he is still better than anyone else they have. I hope he doesn't end up with the Giants!

First they let Garcia go and now Trotter. I hope Jerimiah gets picked up and he and Jeff can pounce all over the Eagles in the near future. What ever happened to loyality? Trotter was a very down to earth person and an intense player. He was key to stopping the run when the Eagles had their wet paper bag defense.

I hate this too, but think about it. When the Eagles let a guy go, they are right a majority of the time. Corey Simon, Ike Reese, Duce Staley, Hugh Douglas, were all released and didn't do anything productive with their new teams and eventually left the NFL. Even Donte Stallworth was on the injured list with New England last time I looked. These guys know when a players tank is empty. I love Trot, but maybe his time is up?

MrBryan - You are correct, Sir! I'm going back to my "In Andy we trust" mantra.

I'm trying to believe, but this is getting tough.
I loved Trotter! That man poured his heart and soul into the game and you could always count on him to keep plugging away and hitting hard. |
Granted the Eagles have made some good decisions in the past and even though, Trotter has been less productive since the 2004 Superbowl campaign team, Omar Gaither and Stewart Bradley have certainly not been consistant enough to fill in for him.
Are you Jason's dad? |
He has admitted that his knees are bothering him a lot. i honestly think he may retire and stay with the organization like hugh did. you never know.
I just listened to him on WIP. He is leaving his options open. He said he will "always bleed EAGLES'green" no matter what. He will shop around, if not he will retire. I would love to see him involved with the team also. |
I agree with Dick Hertz on Gaither and Bradley.
Has there been any talk of signing someone else on to fill for him? I just hate to see him go. |
Are they a better team without him? He was productive as a part time player the year he went to the Pro Bowl (04), why not try that? I like what he still brings as far his leadership and run stopping ability. I assume Andy knows what he is doing, as pointed out by MrBryan, but it still a sad day for Birds fans.

HELLO BOYS AND GIRLS JT IS COMING TO THE DALLAS COWBOYS AND MCNABB IS GOING TO BE IN ALOTA HURT PREPARE THE TRAINERS FOR ANOTHER MRI LOL WELL SEE YOU ALL IN FEW WEEKS EAGLE FANS

First off, blow it out your Arse Cowboy fan. 2nd Trot wont be in Dallas and even if he does end up there, purely 4 the $ he isn't a pass rusher... duh to u.
Well put there Legal Eagle - Cowboy fans should just crawl back into the toilet that they popped out of. Trotter would never become a Cowboy because he bleeds green - it looks like either Tampa Bay or Denver for Trot. I loved Trotter as much as anyone else but if you watch the way the Eagles work, they let go Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor when people thought that they still had gas left in the tank and we plugged in Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard - I think that move paid off - let's face it, our D-line and linebackers just didn't get it done last year so changes need to be made - Gaither stepped up and showed that he can play - we know that Spikes can play so Gocong needs to join the crowd and I'm sure that Bradley will get some time too in certain situations. The Eagles will be fine because they have one of the best head coaches in football - period. That along with McNabb coming back puts them right back on top for yet another year. The rest of the NFC East should just stay home this year and not waste their time - just bring on Seattle or New Orleans for the NFC Championship game at the Linc so we can get back to the big dance. |
