Not gonna happen. For one, the Browns dealt their 08 1st round draft pick for him. If he gets traded, it makes that move a complete failure.

Secondly, no other NFL team has seen him in action - including us. So, in effect, he's more of an unknown now than he was on draft day 07.

Besides - he had a TD/INT ratio in college of appx. 2.4 to 1. In his Jr and Sr years it was amazing - 4.9 to 1. DA's ratio was about the same as it is right now - about 1.4 to 1.

BQ has proven to take VERY good care of the ball. DA has proven he is what he was in college - streaks of brilliance followed up by streaks of ineptitude. No consistency.

Anderson did better than we ever thought but I think Edwards and Winslow made him look better than he is. I hope the Browns offer him the tender at 2.56 and if someone wants him we should be happy with a first and third pick and let him go. If no one does try to trade him for a first and later pick. Either way both should not be here at spring training.
I think Arizona and Cincy is closer to what kind of QB he is.

I agree with Jopa-N. I love the Browns. However, if I was DA I would go back to the Ravens w/the offensive co. Chud. I don't know how good BQ is so let him run the team. If he is bad I can root for the Ravens. I personally think we can keep both at thie time.

WHERE DOES CREMMEL GET OFF TALKING LIKE HE IS .CREMMEL HAS TWO LOUSY SEASONS AND WAS ABOUT TO BE FIRED AT LEAST THE MAJORITY OF FANS WANTED HIM FIRED. IF HE THINK ANDERSON IS SO GOOD WHY DID CHARLIE FRY START THE SEASON. HE DOESN'TS KINOW TALENT AT ALL AND BRADY QUINN WILL NOT GET A CHANCE (A FAIR ONE) UNLESS ANDERSON GET HURTS. DA DID HELP WIN SOME GAMES THIS YEAR HOWEVER HE LOST THREE GAMES MOSTLY BY HIMSELF. CREMMEL CAN GO ANYWHERE AS FAR AS I'M CONCERED AND THE BROWNS WILL BE BETTER OFF.

I believe Crennel is in a hurry for a contract extention because he know's after next year's schedule the contract will pay him when he gets fired.Lets be patient and make sure this year was no fluke and we are going in the right direction. With Crennel as well as with DA.

CLEVELAND...WE HAVE A PROBLEM! We have been without a quarterback for so long, we fall in love with the first guy that can make all the throws. But, there is a reason Derek isn't playing anywhere else. BRAIN FARTS! He has always had them, and probably always will. I was never a Notre Dame, nor a Brady Quinn fan. Go back and watch the body of work of these two guys to this point and you will see Quinn IS our future. They say he can't win the big one, but his job was to score points, which he did against ALL opponents. Derek is just as likely to throw a game away as win it. Our offense just needs a manager that won't give the game away, week after week, and to this point, Derek hasn't been able to do that, on any level. He has talent, but without his mistakes, we would be in the playoffs now. Looking back, what if you had Derek when Kosar came along, and Bernie never got his chance. Quinn is closer to Kosar's smarts and touch, with a stronger arm. I am not saying Derek is a horrible quarterback. I'm just saying, how many games can you afford to give away each year. Look back and you see he has ALWAYS done this, while Quinn has NEVER done this. No body can see the future, but I truly think that 1 year, with a healthy Quinn, with the offense we had this year, and Derek would be our backup, and that would be a good place to have him. He would be a good one to have, but he just isn't our best option available. Our team can make anyone look good right now, and 10 wins are great, just not when you could have, and should have had more. Let's not settle for less, because of a poor past. Let's be the best we can be, at all positions, while we have the opportunity to be great. This was a playoff team, that was robbed by mistakes. They certainly weren't all Derek's, but what would we be without his.
I concur with your analysis of DA. I have pointed out all year that his trows down fiels are good, but his short game is lousy. He either over throws and gets the two bad things that go along with passing or he throws the ball in the dirt.

DA just doesn't have the touch to get the ball over line backers and drop into the receivers hands. I do like the guy because he did have a good season, but I wonder what would of been had Quinn reported on time to camp last summer. You don't have to be an ND fan or a Quinn fan to see what he can do based on the preseason results he had. If you watched him at ND you could see for yourself that he has the touch both down field and the short to intermediate pass.

Based on his season he deserves to start as being the number one QB. The Browns should give Quinn a good look see next summer. Besides there is no reason to get rid of either one. There is plenty of time to pull the trigger. A solid back up is worth his weight in gold. We were just lucky or were we. Quinn got in and immediately showed he belonged.

I believe if he stayed in the game we would of had Wally Pip scenerio.

Romeo is an idiot. This past year, there was an 'open' QB competition in the preseason. When it became clear BQ won that competition with superior performance, then the story changed to 'the Quarterback'(wouldn't even call him by name) did not know the offense well enough to start because of his contract holdout. Now, even though both are 'high quality' players, there will be no open competition for the starting spot.
Phil Savage has a real problem on his hands. If he traded away this year's first round draft pick for a backup QB, he's a fool. I see this as starting the final erosion between RAC and Savage.
Let's hope Parcells wants him REAL bad.
When you get down to it I believe that K2 hit the nail on the head. When you trade for a numner one draft choice he has to play. Just business and it doesn't hurt to be a excellent QB like Quinn. Again I believe there will be a decisive choice this summer. DA deservers to be declared the starter base on this season. I also believe that our receivers made DA look better than he truly was. There were a lot of acrobatic catches that the receivers pulled out of their ass.

When Quinn gets his oportunity to play with the first team offense I believe there will be no doubt who should start. If DA improves well so does the Browns. I Quinn improves well so does the Browns. I don't see any down side if there is an improvement in our QB's especially DA.

Romeo is joining The Big Tuna in Miami after the SB.
The Browns play 8 playoff teams next year so don't expect another 10-6 season. Romeo knows when the gettin is good and his value is high.
Once again OMG you continue to talk out of your neck. The Browns can beat any team in the league including your beloved Steelers. Our QB play will improve and Now that our offense is secure it is time to shore up the defense. I can see us getting somme excellent run stopping help in free agency as well as the draft.

Our offense can score in bunches now so I believe the worm has turned and the Browns are on the top of there game. Our core on offense is on contract for awhile and our best defensive players are too. Once we get that run stop thingy settled hopefully from freagency we will play with any one.

First off we play in the weakest DIVISION, not conference. You are just flat out dumb I think. OR you like acting like OMG and saying stuff to get under peoples skin. But this is way beyond that I think. I think you are just stupid.
You and others keep saying shit about our weak schedule. Well shouldn't we be winning then if it is a weak schedule. You people all think we should have lost those games because it is a weak schedule. WE HAD A WEAK SCHEDULE BECAUSE WE WON 4 GAMES LAST YEAR. Not because we were scheduled that way. Now after this year, which we won 10 games, we will have a tougher schedule. KNOW YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU POST SOMETHING SO STUPID IN HERE!!!
In case you didn't know, only 2 games of 16 on the NFL schedule are set based on where a team finishes. Every team in the NFL plays 6 games in their division (each team twice), one whole division in the their conference (rotating every 3 years), and one whole division in the other conference (rotating every 4 years). The other 2 games are played against the teams that finished the same place in their division, from the two divisions in their conference they do not already play.

This year that meant we played the Texans and the Raiders (while the Steelers played Jaguars and Broncos).

Weak schedules would apply to all teams within a division, since 12 of their 16 games are amongst the common opponents. Like this year, we played the NFC West (Seahawks, Rams, Cards, 49ers) and the AFC East (Pats, Bills, Jets, Dolphins). Both those divisions were weaker than the ones we'll face in 2008.

Do you honestly think 30th. in total defense is a reason to keep Romeo...A fine job by Romeo...
No but rated number 5 in offense surely makes for a strong consideration to keep him as well as a 10-6 record. Emmecee, we were so pathetic in the past not only with playing but also our drafts. Kudos to who ever got Savage. Both sides of the ball were so bad for so long that now that we improved on offense everyone thinks the defense should of fell in line also.

It is quite evident that between the free agency and draft Savage went strongly towards the Offense. It improved. He did get two good DB's in Wright and McDonald. So half the team improved drastically and we went 10-6. What A come back what a good season. As bad as our run defense was it wasn't them who threw three interceptions in the red zone against New England,it wasn't them who missed two field goals-one to win and one to tie. As bad as a defense was I believe the coaching staff did an excellent job with what they had. Think about it. The Defense did make some really key stops for us to win and or put us in the opportunity to win.

I agree we need some Line backers and DL. However, what we had gave us some wins. Lets hope Savage can get more talent this time on the defensive side of the ball. All in all I believe Romeo should be kept. Aren't you happy with the season we had. Sure you are as am I. The season was good and double figure wins. Who cares if our season will be tougher next year. The reason is that we will to. There is only an up side to our team for the forseeable future.

Hey Big Mike! Romeo isn't the defensive line coach. He isn't the defensive coodinator. He's the HEAD Coach. Head coaches promote harmony, inspire players, and promote a winning attitude.
So tell me Big Mike, who's behavior has been an embarrasment to this team this year? Who, of the guys who work for him day in and day out, doesn't want to be back next year? Jurivicious does. Lewis does. Anderson does. Who, in the organization, doesn't think that big things are coming for the Browns and want to be in on it? Leadership, that's what a head coach is for. Look at the roster and tell me who's not following Crennel. The fact that our D line and linebackers are either old men or brand new isn't Crennel's fault. Savage can only do so much at one time. He built the O first and has done a great job. He's smart enough to build a Defense without trading away the offense in the process. Like PDT1420 wrote, if you think Crennel is doing a bad job you are in a very rare minority. In my view, you don't quite understand what his job is. Taking a team with the record the've had for the last two years and turning it into what it is today, that's doing your job. So tell me Mike, who of all the football professionals who work for him, feels the way you do?
Way to go Jim. I certainly agree with you and feel between the two,Crennel and Savage, only good things are coming Clevelands way. All core offense playeres are locked up and the best Defensive players are as well. I know we were 30th or so in defense but we do have some good young CB's in Wright and McDonald. Now the bright spot is our what 4th or 5th rated offense. One fix and one to go. If you are a Browns fan and aren't excited then you need a physical check up.

Also, none of our guys are thugs or criminals. Crennel and Savage built a quality team with out sacraficing integrity or ethics in the players selected. I do believe it is only going to get easier to sign even more quality free agents. The defense could be turned around as quickly as the ofense.

Happy days are here again. Love them Browns.

As amply pointed out... this defense is awful and you are gonna need FA $$ and draft picks to make it better quick.
DA has value, and if you think DA suddenly was mounds better than last year because he matured... well then you weren't watching all the insane catches that #17 and #80 were making to make DA look so much better and that DA had 1-2 more seconds to decide than #9 because of a better O-line. Then he also had #31 keeping 8 in the box at times.
Not a knock on DA, because Frye would NOT have been a better passer in this scheme and was too shell shocked. But DA has value and you can easily see Quinn faring as good as DA in Chud's system with these weapons.
Romeo is a players coach and they love him, but come on, if a team wants to give up 2-3 draft picks to take him... DO IT. This whole offense sparkled under CHUD, not Romeo. Remember how long Romeo stuck with Carthon...
All excellent points and hopefully will be considered. I think in my opinion that Savage is going to wait and see exactly what the value is for DA before he pulls the trigger. Excellent observation on the acrobatic catches our receiving core accomplished this year. I am convienced that BQ has a much better touch more along the lines of Kosar. This summer will be interesting to say the least.

Crennel needs to be replaced. He doesn't have the respect of his players even though he has improved the team for now. He is not strong enough to be their leader...we need Cower, the toughness to get us further on the road. Derek Anderson doesn't have the accurate playing that we need. He has come along way but doesn't have it. Quinn is waiting in the backfield and would be a much larger improvment in our game. Derek is toooo iffy!
Well Jane E Ijust have to disagree with you on the respect issue. If you take a real good look you'll notice that Romeo kept the ship a float. We had no openly disgruntle interuptions to the season. Now that takes experience and the ability to lead grown men into a coohesive unit. There were no lack of appearances of our guys to special interest groups like the kids. Romeo stopped a potential problem with # 17 last year and now the guy is giving scholarship money to the kids of Cleveland.

Look at who wants to stay: Jarevisous,Lewis,Chud.
That should tell you that they are happy were there are. Chad turned down a head coaching position to stay. So Jane I think Romeo is doing just fine in the personnel department.

Now DA is iffy as you say. I to am BQ fan and feel he is the better QB. However, without knowing the sysytem because of his hold out Romeo had no choice but to start DA. Now our receiving core sure did help make DA look better than he is with all those acrobatic catches they pulled out of their ass. Now that is good for us. So he looked good and BQ doesn't play. Now comes next summer. So we will see. It is to be expected that DA gets the job up front as it should be. However, as if you didn't it was coming. Once BQ get to play with the first team then the proof as they say will be in the pudding. Quinn wins out or not. It is at this time a wait and see mode.

I like you do love the Browns.

Very, very good explaination of how each schedule is made. It leaves no doubt that each year is a crap shoot. Teams that were excellent are now fair to poor but have taken steps to improve. Example is the Dolphines' and hiring the Tuna. Look out there. The Raiders, a once proud team, seems to be doing it's best to stay a poor team. Go figure. Other teams that were fair to poor and are now good to excellent. Example is the Bills and the Browns,Vikings,Texans and Tennessee. It's crazy how free agency helped propel teams into sucess.

Each year is diiferent no matter how week or strong a team may be in the prior year. Sure glad they play the game other wise the Browns would of won maybe 4 games according to so called experts. So who is to say what is a week schedule until the end of the year and it plays its self out.

If something is bothering you, it's important that you say so now, loudly and clearly. It's no good bottling things up any longer because that will only lead to resentment and a slow-burning anger. However, it's important that you know when to shut up too, otherwise you might overstate your case or sound so demanding that you turn others against you.
