NFL Free Agency: Oakland Raiders Not in Play for a Top Offensive Lineman?

The best move we can make is to just pay Gallery the money he wants and keep the OL solid. He was the heard and soul of the OL last year and his presence made a big difference. He is, however, getting up there and the risk of injury is greater. I just don't think we have an answer on our current roster if we were to lose him.

I really don't understand why Al Davis doesn't like to pay his OL big bucks, but he'll dish out contracts to his kicker and punter that are almost twice what other teams will pay them.

some people would say gallery was a bust and he was always injured and he couldn't block. gallery is a decent guy. not the greatest but good enough player to have around. i believe gallery would still be here even if his contract was do. he just had to keep his hissy fit to himself. i mean it's okay to show your displeasure of the firing of coaches and his coach tom cable but don't say you are going to quit because of his firing! the saying says, "don't close the doors behind you". and that is just what may have happened to gallery. i'm sure that is probably what hue jackkson is trying to do is to keep gallery. al davis? well al davis is saying, fine, you want to go? than go! i personally feel like al davis. you either want to be a RAIDER or we hire a guy that wants to be a RAIDER! question is, do we need gallery? certainly! can we get a great veteran in place of gallery? definetely! and probably at a cheaper price. there is going to be some free agents out there when the season starts and gallery is one of them. i would rather have gallery back because he is familiar with h jackson. al davis will pay the money, "if, you want to be here" and of course "if, it benefits the team" or if the money is right. but no player is expandable!

i believe we will get a great veteran free agent (o-linemen) if gallery does not come back. i doubt we go with what we have! no offense to the players we have already but we need a great veteran!

I honestly don't know how Gallery feels about Hue Jackson, but I know he was popular in the Oakland community with his community service. He has that image that says he was meant to be a Raider. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

well, he has said before that all this had nothing to do with hue jackson or the rest of his teamates. this had to do with the constant coaching changes in oakland and the fact that the RAIDERS were on a verge of turning things around with x-coach tom cable. he couldn't accept the fact that cable was fired. but everything right now is like you said,"we have to wait and see what happens" (lol). true!:]

I want him back too. He was the sexiest on the team. If he doesn't return, I'm sure Stefan Wisniewski will make us forget about him.
