Lofton joins lengthy list of Raiders' former coaches

Interesting. He did't have much of a shot...had a headcase in Walker...Had Curry who was dropping everything and then didn't get the opportunities and I am sure the pressure to keep sticking with the high dollar starters....It seems the youth movement is flourishing and maybe he didn't want that who knows....All these coaches leaving makes picking the head coach that much more important. We need someone with a deep coaching pool to choose from....I wonder if Cable has that? It seems less likely but who knows...I do know one thing...if Al picks a coach and the don't have a solid coaching pool to choose from it's gonna be another long season next year....conversly if we get a coach that has the resources we could be in good shape.

as much as i said i did not care for gannon even if he was a good player. he would make a good (qb) coach or O line coach. this is one guy that studied hard and started bright and early with gruden. another player that wants in that would be a good (wr) coach, tim brown! get them in somehow! coaching resources are running out like they did a few years back. a new coach or the same one needs in right now so that we can get the assistant coaches in in-time for the draft and anything else that comes that way! RAIDERS 2009!

I would've never let him go in the first place. However, it seems like he applied for the Eagles head coaching job in 1999, but didn't get it and I guess Al Davis and Jon Gruden weren't too happy about it and fired him over that. I guess after the Raiders, he went to Minnesota because he was fired from there in 2003 and apparently he retired from there.
