The Arizona Cardinals receiver, speaking about his injury against the New York Jets for the first time, told radio station XTRA 910 that in addition to having surgery to repair a sinus fracture, he had wires inserted in his lower jaw to correct his bite and also was diagnosed with a concussion.

Once corrected, how is he going to keep his jaw that way, recurrent injury is the problem. We do have a dentist in Arizona who has fitted some players, but the NFL is doing absolutely nothing to promote this higher level of care.$2 mouth guards just don't cut it anymore, now that this new information is on the table.

Colt McCoy of the Texas Longhorns is now wearing the Maher mouth guard. He has a history of concussion. The key to Texas is the connection to a massive research grant the military has awarded them (see attached). We are now organizing a conference of UT researchers, trainers and Dental school officials in conjunction with the Memorial Hermann Hospital ( an affiliate), the dual purpose of protecting athletes and soldiers can be accomplished through this one institution. The Oct. 30 FIFA presentation should be enough for them to jump in with both feet ( see UPMC attachment). It appears they already have.
