He earned alot of money his first 2 years. The first year injury was legit because the injury was on the field. The second was not. He is a great player and very important to the Browns. But be a team player and let the team take care of the real needs at the moment, signing Lewis, Anderson and getting some D. Winslow will get his pot of gold if he comes out next year and has a season like the last 2. I fully expect that to happen.

I know this is going to sound like a record replaying over and over again, but I will agree with players asking for more money DURING a contract when and only when they offer to GIVE BACK money if they perform poorly during the contract. Until then, play out your current contract. Show us on the field and then we will pay when the contract is up. As for Anderson, one year does not make a career. The second half of the season has reason for some concern. Take the 3 yrs and 17 mil, (11 of which is guaranteed) and be happy. If he comes out and gets hurt next year or has a sub-par year, he is going to be wishing he took that money.

Old Man Grump is an idiot. Winslow has a contract, he won't hold out. He wants a new contract. Big deal. Anderson will have a contract one way or the other. He won't hold out.

But I'm pretty sure Willie Parker is done, the line is old, and Big Ben ain't what he used to be. The Steelers are definitely over the hill and falling while the Browns are up and coming.

Old man grump should find a Steeler's blog to post his pathetic rants. What a loser.

It's no crime to ask for a new contract but if the Browns say no, live with it. Fulfill it. That's why it's called what it is - a contract.

Can they trade Anderson for some draft? I would not have asked this if Anderson had come through in Cincinnati. There are some good DTs. Quinn is already a commercial star.

Never played one game of professional football. But I think Quinn is the immediate future and defense is the need.

ok,ok, don't get excited. I did not notice your address at first. Yeah, that was a great game for State. I was glad to see Anderson have a good year but the Cincinnati game makes me think the Browns might be better to go with Quinn and get some trade value out of Anderson to improve the defense.
Wasn't Quinn just a froshman then?

A contract is a contract just shut up and play Winslow. Try the real world where when you get hurt and can't perform your job you are let go and maybe get unemployment. Big baby

Once again your mental retardation gets in the way of any rationality. A contract is a contract. Anderson will get his in time, KW should shut the f up and thank God he has what he has.

The Browns will own the squeelers next year. Remember the Alamo clueless, 31-29!

You know what..... reward Winslow. Give him something. But also make the signal clear that while you are willing to reward good performance.... that poor performance and injury will also be addressed and that same good faith is expected.

As for DA......
Trade him. You need more than another QB. Make a run for Chris Long. Do something. Get another kid like Eric Wright. Do something.... anything. Have some faith in your pick of Quinn and swing for the damn fences. Remember.... WE NEED TO GET PAST....

1) The Patriots
2) The Colts
3) The Chargers
4) The Steelers

in order to get to the Super Bowl. If you REALLY want to build a GOOD TEAM THAT LASTS.... you have to keep continually infusing fresh talent.

DA is simply NOT "THAT GOOD" to warrant a long term deal. Not with Quinn waiting in the wings. Quinn would have scored a touchdown in that last game had his receivers held onto the ball in the endzone. He has shown himself as capable and worth taking a risk on.

If Savage doesn't keep up with the aggressive moves and doesn't build the team up to a seriously competitive level, he and Crennel can count on their butts being kicked to the curb and rebuilding starting all over again. Winslow and Edwards are TWO of the peices. We gathered some more recently. BUILD DAMN IT! You need to dig yourselves out of the toilet and field a competitive team year-in and year-out.

The Steelers didn't get to be the franchise they are by having a "losing attitude". The ownership has MADE IT CLEAR THAT THE TEAM COMES FIRST. Savage needs to drive that point home! All these REALLY GOOD TEAMS have their stars PUT THEIR EGOS IN CHECK come gameday. They leave it in the locker and PLAY AS A TEAM FOR THE TEAM.

Until Winslow, Edwards, and DA get it in their heads that they need to be more like Joe Thomas.... the TEAM PLAYER..... they will be NOTHING MORE THAN A LIABILITY in the long run.

At the end of the day.... it boils down to this....
HOW MUCH DOES WINNING MEAN TO YOU?

Randy Moss showed how much it meant to him.
Got traded and took a pay cut. But damn did his team perform.

When the Browns players realize they CAN HELP THEMSELVES MORE BY PLAYING AS A TEAM AND WINNING.... taking their contracts and SHOWING THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY.... they will win games and get to the big dance. THEN they can make the real bank.

Until then...... they're pretenders.
Or at worst..... pretentious.

Alright, I'm glad to see you webfeets loyalty to Anderson. I just think the Browns need to use every break they can get right now. So I voted to trade Anderson while his stock is high and get some defense. But Anderson deserves the starting qb job. So how about Quinn playing linebacker?

Quinn was a sophomore, ND was without a coach and a defense. I don't understand why you'd go back to a college football game to decide who is a better player. I guess Chris Leak was and is a much much better QB than Troy Smith by your theory. And that QB that won a title for LSU this past season is the best QB in college football.

I think Anderson did well this year, but they didn't go to the playoffs. They beat one team with a winning record, and are still the 2nd best team in the division. Anderson deserves another year as a starter to see what he can do, but with the offensive line as good as it is now who's to say Brady Quinn can't get things done as well as D.A. Teams aren't going to trade a 1st round pick for Anderson, there are 5 QB's that are going to be drafted in the first 2 rounds, a team would probably rather pick their own guy. There was a nice article in the Plain Dealer yesterday, and one NFL executive said that Matt Schaub is looked at more favorably than Anderson. D.A. threw 19 picks, and there were about 20 more picks that were dropped, I guess they notice that stuff too.

This is coming from an idiot who's team won't spend money on its best guard or even free agency to boost talent...
