Domanick Davis

Ever since Dominick Davis suffered a knee injury I wondered what would happen to the Houston Texans without him. Now that the 2008 season is about to start look where the Texans are now. They have released David Carr and have traded for Matt Schaub. In 2006 NFL draft the Houston Texans passed up Reggie Bush and took DE Mario Williams because the Houston Texans expected Domanick Davis to play in the 06 season. Even though Davis was resigned to a "huge" contract with a big signing bonus, Davis refused to play in the 06 season even though physicians told Davis that his knee would be 100% for the season. That year the Texans had their worst season ever going 2-14. Now the Texans are in search of another running back like Davis. The Texans drafted Steve Slaton in the 3rd round of the 08 draft. Could he be the next Domanick Davis? The Texans sure hope so. Davis was a guy with speed and power, who could also catch a pass out of the backfield. Davis was the type of running back that every team wants to have. Davis was one of them. A back with speed, power, and soft hands. If he would of played in the 06 season he would of been looking at a trip to Hawaii in the Pro Bowl.
