Here's an idea, keep Martin and Pittman who both have good upside and cut Frank Walker who has shown how bad he is as a starting CB, he can play nickel at best and even then Corey Ivy is much better than he is.

Pittman a third round pick.Typical of what is wrong with the talent being brought in.No way he should have gone that high.

Picking up on what Aaron said -- Frank Walker is so bad it's not even funny.

I think you're off base there. IMO Martin is decent, it's obvious he has improved since last season, and he is only 23 years old, the same age as several incoming rookies. I don't think that Pittman & Prude are "garbage" either. They were forced to play last season before they had time to develop.

That's funny that you should say that...I'm curious, just what your personal qualifications are, to be able to make such an assessment. I would think that our scouts would know better than you, a fan, that Pittman should have been picked up in the third round. Fact is, he was a very good corner in college, period. And he wasn't activated in 2006, because quite honestly, we just didn't NEED him, as our starting corners stayed healthy all year.

The only game in which we actually played Pittman at the correct position, as a cover corner, and not trying to install him at nickel or dime, was in the last game of last season. And guess what? He looked great, with two INTs, and he was just solid all around. It's not his fault he's been hurt in camp. But overall, I would still pick him over Martin and Prude, if we could only keep one.

To "GetReal", NONE of the three are "garbage", that is another purely BS statement right there. In fact, all three have shown flashes, and given reasons why they should stay. I would say that Martin should be on the short end of the stick, simply based on his little "oops" moment with weed this offseason. The team just doesn't need that. Prude and Pittman are good players, and if we can keep them both, I'd love to see it.

As for Frank Walker....that's funny, because none of you were talking any trash about him after his solid play against New England. Then all the sudden, he gets beat by some good receivers against the Vikings (ONE preaseason game), and you're already calling for him to be cut. That is why sometimes it's embarasing being a football fan....because so many of my fellow "fans" are fickle as s**t, and make kneejerk reactionary statements to the dumbest little things.

If Walker really were no good at coverage, then they would have started Ivy instead (who, by the way, IS no good at coverage).

walker got burned by new england too. he was just a lot worse then that against minny. flock we cant keep them all-were not going to have 10 corners make the team-some have to be cut. mcalister, rolle and washington are locks. maybe we keep 3 more tops maybe only two. martin should be one of them. that may only leave one spot for pittman, walker and ivy. if it was me walker would be gone first. now do we keep pittman for potential or ivy for his tackling ability? but they are not all going to make it. especially when 5 safetys should make the team also.

From what I've seen recently Walker is the worst of the group and just because he was signed as a FA shouldn't make him a lock to make the team. Cut downs will be very interesting this yr because if the players expected to be starters are kept when we get down to 53 players the Ravens might start the season opener with about 30 healthy players. I wonder if there will be any surprises when Harbaugh selects his final roster. Actually the Ravens / Ozzie should be grabbing as many Offensive players off waivers as possible.

If I had to choose between the three, I would choose Ronnie Prude for several reasons.

1. His track record during regular season games in his two years here will show that he has more interceptions that both Martin and Pittman combined and, if I am not mistaken, has returned one or two of them for TDs in his career.

2. Ronnie Prude is the more athelitic of the two. He didn't need to add wait to improve his strength. He has the speed to not get burned flat out in the manner that Martin does.

3. I just feel that based on regular season performances Prude's instincts are better. I understand that Martin didn't get an opportunity until the wheels had fallen off of the secondary and I understand that Pittman(though he had to fight even harder for playing time due to his lack of focus) was in a similar situation. Nevertheless, Prude has performed the best in the regular season these past two years and I have not been shown a reason(outside an interception against the third string offense last week) as to why Pittman or Martin should be chosen over him.

4. Prude has clearly shown that he is the more physical corner. Pittman adding weight is nice and all, but it means nothing if he still lacks the physical mentality. For example, Clarence Moore added his share of pounds, but still shied away from contact. He was able to get away with it for a few years, because he is a reciever. Pittman is a corner and will not be able to get away with it long. Especially, wearing the purple and black.

In my opinion, seeing Prude during our 13-3 season, he just seemed like the perfect fit for our style of defense. That opinion has not changed since.

To potentially correct myself, I did forget about the Pittsburg game from last season in which Pittman did pull in a pick or two. If someone could check the stats of Pittman and Prude, that would be great.

If I had to pull out one to be cut, it would be Martin. If I had to pull out two, it would be Martin and..........FRANK WALKER!!

Prude was impressive from the begining.... Martin and Pittman got burned more than the bottom of a frying pan...and none of them are as good as Gerome Sapp was but they let him go...washington is the only corner on the team with the necessary competitive speed.... and he cant really cover so it's all academic.

He's gone Flock . I guess I wasn't wrong about Pittman after all.The guy was a reach in the third round but you go right on defending Ozzie.

Those picks came against a quarterback who sat most of the season.I don't place too much emphasis on that game since Pittsburgh was resting it's starters as much as possible.

By the way Flock, everybody in the NFL was good in college. That doesn't mean a thing once your in an NFL camp.
