Actually, it was the catch made that was WAY IMPRESSIVE. QBs scramble away from pressure all the time, but a catch like the one that was made on that play was simply incredible. Any fraction of that ball that touches the tiniest blade of grass is incomplete. Just amazing.
Also, what a bunch of crud that Belly-cheat wanted to meet the opposing coach on Coughlins house. Did Bellichick fluff you for that statement?

Yes, that was the greatest get away and catch combo I have seen in ANY game in a looong time, Much less a Superbowl!
Please spare me the protection of a coach that showed his CLASS on National TV. Go to Couhlins HOUSE? What for? So he could then also APOLOGIZE for appearing like a JERK before congradulating him? The writer is right, the Giants winning this game wasnt as Shocking as some make it out to be, but Belechic acting CLASSLESS isnt either! There is a differance between being smart, and good at what you do, and CLASS.

Remember dear Chas. that the Giants were a wild card team that beat the Invincible ones (Pats).....and 12 point underdogs to boot.........

ergo.........." no one ever gave us a chance " quote .

try not to be so cynical and more objective in your sports reporting.......
your petticoat is showing !

I love the Giants....Where can we get Super Bowl Championship Merchandise? Maybe Wayne should put some of it up on the Dolphins web Site, he can stop selling Saban Hat's, and Wes Welker Jerserys...and replace them with Giants Merchanidise....

Yes , the scramble was as good as stated . But , without the catch , the scramble is meaningless . Together , it was the best scramble, pass and catch I can remember in a super bowl .
As for Bellichik going to Coughlins house , that's crap . A real coach waits for the kneel down , walks over and congratulates the coach and players . That is what a REAL coach should do .

This was not menat to be a Pat's win, the God's were against it. On the final drive Manning fumbled the ball and recovered it between his legs, the next play he threw a interception to Samuels, who dropped it. Then he mannaged to get out of a sure sack and threw up a Hail Mary to Tyree who caught it one handed on top of his helment. The Pat's played tight, they had become the 2001 Rams. Not to take anything away from the Giants but luck does play a part in sports.

The one thing that is constant in todays NFL is"change". The 07 Patriots are not going to be the same team in 08 and they will see just how hard it is to have a perfect season. It may never happen again because of free agency and the constant change in players and coachs !

Manning scramble was only the second best of the game. The best scramble was Bilicheat scrambling off the field.

Does anyone remember the Howard Cosell quote during a Monday night game."Any team can beat any team on any Sunday, this is the NFL" In terms of great upsets, the first one has to be Super Bowl III, when Broadway Joe Namath beat the great Johnny U, and in doing so made the old AFL a force to be dealt with.

Damn right!!! And the local media better start giving us more credit for the win and saving the Dolphins perfect season which everyone in America is tired of hearing about. And that cat Adam Kupperstein or whatever from NBC6, picked NE 45-17 to win. Not so much huh ya putz. GREATEST SUPER BOWL EVER!!! LET'S GO GIANTS!!!

Bitter much? Luck has bounced the Pat's way for years; "Tuck Rule" ring a bell?

Absolutely! Agreed. And no way did Bellicheck garner enough maturity and sportsmanship to even CONSIDER showing anyone else some respect.

So, the writer of this arcticle is a Patriots Fan>>>???
The Scramble???? I love when horrible writers try to coin a phrase.
Not the greatest upset ever??? Who really cares...but, in all honesty, when was the last undefeated team beat in the Superbowl..or should I say, blown up in the Superbowl...thats Right!...Never!.
Btw, I am a phins fan, but I can't stand this AP crap the herald posts.Yes, the man used complete sentences, but his opinion is up there with Hank Goldberg, and I believe Hank was just fired last year.:)

Bricker you are classless yourself. It's not going to be rememberd as "The scramble", rather I think "The Catch" or just collectivly "The Play!"
Anyway you dissed my boys right up to game time, you gave them no chance just like all the other pens out there. Two people out of 200 is not exactly a ringing endorsement. So Yeah my boys were correct in saying nobody (but true Giant fans) believed in them. It was a fantastic game, that will long, long be remembered, and "The Play" will forever be part of SB footage!

I couldn't agree more Bob. The Scramble is pretty lame, but then again, so is Bricker. A better catch phrase would be "The Great Escape", but what do I know. I used to be a sports writer once, but gave it up to make a better living.

"We're hoping that Archie and Olivia [the parents of Peyton and Eli] will have one more child." Actually, their oldest son Cooper, has a little boy named after Archie. Another Manning quarterback waiting to take the field in a few years!
