Seeing opportunity rather than irony

$12,500 for ending a guy's season, and perhaps even worse? That does not send a statement out to anyone in the league which will be even noticed. That's not even a speedbump. If the league started fining guys the way lawyers seek, and get, damages for malpractice against doctors - with big buck settlements the rest of us then pay, there would be few, if any, dirty plays in the NFL.

This just goes to show how bad the refs have been this season. I don't get it, a player gets his leg broke at the line of scrimmage and there is no flag,there is a ref behind the D- line and one behind the O-line but yet no one saw the cheap shot and yes lets call it the way it really was, a cheap shot. Chris Samuels has been known for his cheap shots in the past and you are right Oaklawner the fine was a joke this guy makes millions a year and ended another players season and maybe worse.

That is EXACTLY what I've been thinking!! Plus, he should really focus on short passes to the tight ends.

Go Orton!

It marked the NEXT time Orton stepped on the field as a starter— December 17th, 2007 against the Vikings at the Metrodome on Monday Night Football.

The crowd was even more raucous this time around with the Vikings making a late season push for the playoffs having won 4 in a row; the Vikings' defense was again relentless. Orton got banged around to the tune of FIVE sacks before Brian Griese replaced him in the fourth quarter. The result was ONCE AGAIN a 34-10 loss for the Bears, one that gave Orton—then a 3rd year back-up to a back-up QB—a second harsh dose of reality.
