Yipes Stripes;
I knew there was something familiar about those stripes on the Referee's shirts. The last time I saw stripes like those was down in Alabama in a PENAL COLONY! Mister Levy, what we have here is a "Failure to Communicate" |

Refs are bias...The pass to steven on 1yard line was called back. They flag seahawks lineman for holding, When Steelers was offside. Basically a free play was wipe out, Seahawks would have led 17-14..I would say this is one of the worst superbowl i ever saw. The refs blew it!!

even with out the ref's error the steelers would of owned the seachickens, the chickens are not ready yet to win a super bowl, why? because they have the worst fan base, hardly anybody know them. They had many chances to score but they failed to do so. Maybe in another 30 years they will be ready for it. They lack the confidence a treu superbowl champ should have.
The lack of confidense was best displayed during halftime. As both teams walked to the lockerrooms the media interviewd. they steelers coach said that they had to get ben settle down and they would be fine. Seahawks coach said and i quote I am still been told that ben DID NOT cross the line. This is not the attitude a leader should show. even if the call was wrong you move on and look to the future and what you have to do to win, you put the past aside and move on. thats what true champs do. Seahawks are not true champs. |

Seahawks fan are hypocrites. They never complained when the Redskins got shafted by the refs in the playoff game. During the supposed 20-10 win by Squawks, Redskins get back into the game, score is 17-10, and there's all kinds pass interference on Santana Moss, which is only way they "shut him down". No call. At all. On last play of game in end zone, CB interfered with Moss before ball gets there. No call.
Seahawks shouldn't have even been in the Super Bowl had that game been called right. So now you guys lose and there's all this complaining. Know what? Karma is a *itch. |

Below is a listing from an email forwarded to me in Pittsburgh from someone on the West Coast. I'm not forwarding this to offend anyone, but to enlighten those who are still under the misconception their team lost solely on the official's calls. There were other reasons. Twenty of them are cited here.
Good luck in 2006, and maybe we will get to play this again in the next Super Bowl. 20 Reasons Seattle Can't Blame the Refs 1. The Refs didn't give up the longest run in SB history...Seattle's defense did 2. The Refs didn't bite on a 43 yd trick play, Randle to Ward for a TD...Seattle's defense did. 3. The Refs didn't allow Ben to scramble around on a 3rd and 28 and complete a long pass to the 2 yd. line...Seattle's defense did. 4. The Refs didn't miss two field goals - that was Seattle. 5. The Refs didn't fail to step out of bounds late in the 1st half to stop the clock in Pittsburgh territory in a crunch time situation...Seattle's offense did. 6. The Refs didn't let the 1st half clock tick down from 48 seconds all the way down to 13 seconds before finally running their next play at Pittsburgh's 36 yd line...Seattle's offense did. 7. And on this play, 3rd down, 53 yds. away from a FG, it wasn't the Refs who tried and failed to go deep for a TD rather than a safer 5-7 yd play and timeout setting up a much easier FG attempt....that, again, would be Seattle's offense. 8. The Refs didn't get confused by Pittsburgh's zone defense and throw an INT...that would be Seattle's QB. 9. The Refs didn't let a little physical contact intimidate them from catching 4 very catchable passes...that would be the Seattle TE Jeramy Stevens. 10. With approx. 20 seconds left in the game, knowing they need a TD and FG,in no particular order, and in easy FG range on 4th down, it wasn't the Refs. who ignored the FG and elected to throw up a prayer trying for a TD...that AGAIN would be Seattle. And Seattle, if you're Steel salty and Steel reaching for excuses... 11. The Refs didn't constantly punt deep into the end zone, repeatedly giving Pittsburgh the ball at the 20 yd line...that of course was Seattle. 12. It wasn't the Refs who received a Christmas-gift- wrapped easy INT lobbed in perfect position to return deep into Pittsburgh territory...the lucky beneficiary of that break would be Seattle. 13. It wasn't the Refs who got a break when a Steeler DB dropped an easy interception early in the game...that too would be a break for Seattle. 14. It wasn't the Refs who caught a break when a Steeler WR dropped a very catchable TD pass...that break again would go to Seattle. 15. It wasn't the scapegoat Refs that received a break when a WR caught the ball, turned, stepped, was hit hard enough to cause a fumble, and then ruled INCOMPLETE...that would be of course, another chance for Seattle.(this was an interesting call considering that after Troy Polamalu's famous overruled Int, the NFL stated that it WAS a catch. If so, than this definitely WAS a catch). 16. The Refs weren't the ones who caught a break when at the conclusion of a 2nd qtr play, as a Steeler DE was walking away, the Seattle Center blindsided the defenseless player, leveling him to the ground. This mysteriously unseen crime was again another break for Seattle. 17. It wasn't the Refs who got a break when Steeler QB Big Ben was blocked in the back as he pursued the DB who he'd tossed an interception to...that again would go to Seattle. 18. It wasn't the Refs who stopped Seattle RB Alexander in a few key situations. That would be the Pittsburgh Steelers. 19. It wasn't the Refs who converted many of their 3rd downs yet stopped their opponent on 3rd down often...that would be the Pittsburgh Steelers 20. And the very bottom line is this...On plays when there were not any penalties...One team made plays and one team didn't. The end result was the final score. Seattle was outcoached and outplayed. |

MLL is a genious. Seattle fans suck

This was without a doubt the worst list I have ever seen. This is all you need to know the refs are biast. Please explain the Mack Strong run that the was across the first down marker and then the ref moved back. Please explain the "pass interference" on Darrel Jackson when he tapped a guy to gain his balance. And for the love of god please explain that Ben Roethlisberger run ass hole the guy even came on national television the next day and said he didnt make it across the goal line. So what do you say that??? and yea the seahawks made mistakes so did the steelers it happens. And for the redskins game I WAS THERE I think I saw it better then you did. So yea you can say what you want but the seahawks should have won that game and without those biaist steeler loving refs they would have done so. If you want to defend your case please do so because I have many more things I can say |
That was a push off because you can not touch the defender to change your direction towards the ball...dont you know what a push off is...
by the way, seattle got away with a block in the back on their big int return.. also, if u want to say u didnt win because you had a bad call or 2, then shut up beecause that means your team was incapable of winning..remember against the colts polamalu had a int but they called it incomplete and it almost cost the steelers the game?? well they fought back and won which proved they were the better team..and may i add that the game against the colts was also questionable for reffing...both that game and the super bowl were qestionable but they were good enough to show that the better team would win |

umm super bowl victory

all you Seahawks fans seem to forget the incredible amount of referee cheating the Steelrs had to overcome in the Colts game just to get to the Superbowl. We got ours like you got yours. Now take it like men!

This is a week-in and week-out problem in the NFL. I'm an Eagles fan unfortunately and I can honestly say that the Seahawks got the shaft. Just like the AFC championship game, the Steelers fans would have been crying had Colts made that field goal at the end of regulation and forced OT and had the Colts went on to win that game. Why? Because the Colts should not have been in that position to tie the game, regardless of the fumble by Jerome. There were terrible calls that were made before the fumble against Pitt. that prevented them from putting that game away prior to Jerome's fumble. Lucky for Pitt. fans he missed or all of you would of been crying just like Seattle fans are crying. Why? Because the Refs did eveything in their power to let the Colts back into that game. My point is it happens all the time, I've just never seen it that blatant during a Super Bowl game. It just magnifies the problem that much more since it was the Super Bowl. Hopefully all of you will start to realize how often this occurs. It's not just last year's Stink Bowl!!!
So you agree the Seahawks got the shaft, just like they tried to give Pittsburgh the shaft. You guys didn't overcome the officiating, Vanderjact just choked. |
Such is life in the National Fi ed League, You fill in the blank. |
After having said all that, it's still the best sport in America. Baseball a close second.
Amen brother. Look at the analysis. google : seahawk boys. |
I think the thing that is discussed the least that has just as big an impact is NON-CALLS. There were a lot of non-calls that screwed Seattle also. Key was Joey Porter's illegal horse-collar tackle of Alexander in front of the whole world.
All these fans who can say nothing but "shut up" and "quit crying" (or some variation thereof) are only delaying the implemetation of full-time officials who should be IN COMPETITION for such an accuracy-demanding job as NFL Referee. Useless comments like those above provide no analysis.........while Super Bowl XL controversy will remain forever. Seattle lost, partially to their own mistakes, mostly due to officiating calls AND non-calls. All teams and fans suffer until change is made. |

i see bad calls in every game. but its up to your team to fight back and win. and seahawks didnt. im a steelers fan first. but i also love the seahawks. it was a crappy superbowl. there were bad calls against both teams. so everyone needs to get over it. and hope for the next superbowl.
