I don't believe McNair is just "Following Orders" when it comes to the passing game.

The longer routes are being ran, and people are open. McNair choose to hold onto the ball for 5 seconds just to dump off to a reciever for 7 yards.

This is purely decision making. McNair knows his arm wasn't what it was, and is compensating. He's afraid to go down the field.

I know Billick isn't perfect, and probably that you don't particular like him, Mike. SOMETIMES, for good reason.

But in this case its the QB. And I think Bisciotti or Newsome needs to talk to Billick and give him their blessing to go with Boller.

The reality is, the McNair show is dead. Its not happening past this year, and its not even working this year.

Its time to see what we have with Boller so we know what to do at QB in 2008

Why don't they pull QB Troy Smith out of the deep freeze and give him a couple of snaps?

Redzone needs much improvment. If we had an offense half as good as our Defense on a bad day, we'd all be happy.

This team seems to be sleep walking. Maybe they aren't as good as we thought, and I KNOW they aren't as good as they thought. As far as poor conditioning, lack of discipline, poor timing with the penalties, etc. etc., that can only be one man's fault - b squared. I wonder how long before the wheels come completely off the cart.

Preston says, "The offense doesn't control the clock."

In four games, the Ravens' total time of possession is 135:38; their opponents total time of possession is 104:22. That's a 31 minute, 16 second advantage.

HOW CAN A PROFESSIONAL JOURNALIST CASUALLY THROW OUT FALSE STATEMENTS LIKE THAT? DO YOUR FREAKIN' HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR FAT MOUTH!!!!

Hey, it's my old buddy from Oregon. How about looking at the stats, Chief. Ravens offensive rank: 8th; Ravens defensive rank: 10th.

Mike, I totally agree with your conditioning comments. I am so sick of these prima donna superstars sitting out training camp and preseason games with fictitious strains and pulls. Like Madden always says, the best way to prepare for football, is to play football. When you play 10 minutes over 4 preseason games, the first 4 games of the season become your training camp. Our veterans are getting schooled by younger hungrier players. I wish these guys would stop doing talk shows and reading their press clippings and practice a little harder!!

Walt,

If Troy Smith starts playing, that means we have given up any hope of the playoffs.

We have not looked Good yet, but the season is far from over. Troy Smith is Far from being ready.

If we keep losing, then maybe see What Troy has, but he would not be the right choice at the moment.

This is typical Baltimore backlash. I'm not so sure how schooled the fans are in football, lets forget about 10 sub-par baseball seasons (yea not under par golf scores, which usually are winners) and play the dag gone games. Too much money for the shows that are playing downtown across from each other. Wow, and to think I'm dumb enough to buy season tickets. Not too much longer for sure, definitely done with the Orioles. Are we still considered formiable opponents? Oh well I'll probably listen to the bull crap on TV. So there is more liberal stations and programs other than Baltimore.

I think there was one positive out of this game, the Ol play.
Zero sacks in 50+ pass attempts and a 100 yd rusher on 14 carries.
negatives:
The Defense has lost Pryce and Thomas 25 combined sacks last yr, why is everyone so surprised that its not as good this yr. The lack of pressure and depth will translate into more big plays, less turnovers and 4th qtr collapses.
Offense, McNair 0-2 and Boller 2-0, you tell me what's wrong with the offense? McNair can not throw long, no arm strength, way too many low risk, low reward passes.
Billick is a genius after all, I didn't think it was possible to draw up that many, 50 plus, of 3 yd Dink and Dunk pass plays.
Hey when you are behind by 21 pts, why not put Boller in and throw deep? McNair rests his groin and maybe Boller can pull the game out McNair had no chance throwing 3 yd passes. Boller gives the Ravens the best chance to win this season, he needs to start.

Hey Marc, there's a difference between the time of possession and controlling the clock. Time of possession refers to how long the team has the ball. Controlling the clock refers to what they do with the ball when they have it (i.e. passing with a lead in the fourth quarter instead of running the clock down). Get off Preston's back, for God sakes!! He's paid to write his opinions. That's his opinion!

P.S. What do you know about being a journalist anyway?

troy smith looked like a freshman playing varsity...total in above his head...but maybe that is because he can't see over the O-Line.

Where the heck is Mike Anderson? Can someone tell me this? Musa Smith has not shown me anything! Where is the deep pass, McNair can't throw that far. McNair looks like a deer in headlights, try to win with Boller now or forget the playoffs!

Bisciotti seems like a good owner. He has to see some of these problems. Will he (behind the curtain) help get the team back on track?

"Productive" offense. Our yards on Sunday were produced after the Clowns went to the prevent D. Slop yards and virtually meaningless. Do I know you? Ravens O 8th? I doubt that but if so, stats do lie.
