You could argue a D or a B. D based on talent B based on straightening salary issues and tenatively upgrading coaching. Coaching could pull the best out of the vets we picked up. Then again.....
Bottom line is save judgement forhow we did UN offseaon until season's end.

It's really hard to say because a lot of people don't realize how valuable coaching is. When we brought in John Marshall to replace Rob Ryan, I saw a much improved defense with the same players, but when Al Davis opted to part with Marshall and bring back Bresnahan, the D sank back to the low that is was before.

Look at our former players that left and exploded in better scheming...Charles Woodson returned to his pro bowl form; Fabian Washington became a vital starter for Baltimore and has since left for New Orleans; Tyler Brayton was a critical starter for Carolina; Thomas Howard exploded in Cincinati; Point is we had the talent, but it was about utilizing them to their best value and coaching and scheming makes all the difference there....The fact that Pro Bowler Nnamdi Asomugha wasn't able to attain the money Al Davis handed Stanford Routt was the biggest sign that Al Davis overvalued a lot of players and undervalued some as well.

You had no draft picks until there were just slugs left so it stands to reason the off-season would be bad

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Virgo

It's a rather low-key day with a few disappointments to cope with along the way. If you were looking forward to a social event, such as meeting up with friends, it may fail to live up to your expectations. It might even be delayed or postponed through no fault of your own. There could also be problems about how much something is going to cost, forcing you to scale down your plans to make them more affordable.
