Raiders working out T.J. "Who'syourmomma"

Full story: Silver And Black Pride

I don't know how to feel about this. I just hope that Hue isn't Josh McDaniels 2.0. Per ESPN's Bill Williamson: "The Raiders reportedly worked out receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh and will give him a physical on Tuesday.

I have nothing against this guy as long as he helps us out, but My Real Question is "Who is the odd man out?" Wait Campbell is not on IR yet and everybody knows he won't be back this year with a broken collar bone

Smart move for the Raiders....Palmer had been working out with him, and should be most comfortable with him.....sign him quick and kill the Chargers...Go Raiders...

I undefstand he has been working out with him...but this makes no sense unless the drop schilens...that would make sense. But I still like dhb, ford and murphy as our trio. But if he comex in and makes a difference...i am all for it.

Hue was asked if they would carry 7 WR's. He skillfully dodged the question but I got the impression his answer was "no".

I hope they keep DHB, Ford, Hagan and Moore.

Schilens has good hands and so does Murphy but neither has been healthy enough this year to make an impression. I would really hate to lose either one. Can they assign them to the practice squad and still keep them?

It would be a shame to put Jason Campbell on IR (can they even do that to make room?). I would love to go into the playoffs with Carson & JC at the helm.

I would rather see them drop Boller and have Pryor as the #2 guy until JC returns.

I don't think we need Housh. I think he's a good receiver but not as good as some of our young WR's will certainly become. Give our young WR's (DHB & Ford) just one year with a QB like Carson and watch what happens to our passing game.

On the bright side.......most of the time, Housh will certainly draw the opponents #1 defender and/or safety (double coverage) allowing the other, speedy receivers to get open a lot more often. Even if he doesn't get thrown to, he can contribute to the team. And if the opponent DOESN'T double cover him, then throw it to him!....he can still catch.

Hue stated he wanted Carson to feel comfortable with players he knew...WTF kinda BS is that...so Carson felt "left out" with the current WR's? This is starting look like a bad deal all around...

Personally thought the Raiders already had pretty good WR's to begin with...now someone who has been workign hard half the season gets screwed because baby Carson doesnt feel comfortable...

This is not a bad move. He is not coming in to be a #1 WR. He will just compliment the speed guys that they have. Best case scenario is a go-to guy or distraction for other WRs on third down.

I wonder if they've considered trying Denarrius Moore or Jacoby Ford at corner. The guys are very athletic and have great speed. I don't think there is that much difference except the QB isn't trying to throw to you and your catches are now INTs.

Well, we got Housh. OK. Fine. Having a receiver like him on the team certainly is not a bad thing. His experience should be able to help our young WR's also--they've been "talking" about bringing in a veteran WR for a couple seasons now.

Hagan waived to make room. I don't like this. I guess it makes sense in a way. Hagan was the "not-real-fast receiver with good hands"......kinda like Housh. We're not paying him much either--league minimum--so that's good. The bad part is it could affect our compensatory picks in the draft that we're really counting on after getting Carson.

I'm not sure I'm buying Hue's talk on this one. This just smells too much like babying Carson. I hope I'm wrong.

Oh well. We could certainly do a lot worse that Housh. Thank God it wasn't T.O.!!

Also,
Chris Johnson on IR.

TR is right as long as we pick up the W's ...who cares! The good news is he has been out for long enough that he needs to prove himself....thats a good thing. Plus with a one year deal he has to do well if he wants to be picked up.

I don't mind the move. Some veteran leadership from a guy who has played at an elite level, for the young guns. Don't mind the Lito Sheppard move for similar reasons. Need a balance between veteran guys and youth. T.J. has always carried himself well in my opinion.

Not too elite...Ravens dumped him...

DHB is on the rise...TJ is Palmers little blanket to help him feel "comfortable"...acco rding to Hue anyway...

Daily Horoscope for May 23

You have a very high opinion of a certain person today, believing that they can do no wrong. But how realistic are you being? It looks as though you're viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, which is fine if it's only a temporary state but quite another matter if you're deliberately ignoring problems and pretending that they don't exist.
