Herm will begin writing his novel, " Take a Pass On Defense".

Sadly Herm will get another chance at destroying a good team! Hey Herm do us a favor a la Pete Caroll and look to colleges. You are not a good coach by any stretch of the imagination.

What took them so long? Herm is a good guy, but boy does he suck as an NFL head coach.

No tears here. He bolted the Jets because he didn't want to go through a rebuilding period given the aging roster, and that's exactly what happened in KC. Lot of ironies here:
-he left the Jets for what he thought was a better team and better job security in KC; -the Jets were pushing for KC's 3rd pick, and had to settle for the 4th. The 3rd pick was the often injured Brodie Coyle and the Jets used the Chiefs pick to grab Leon Washington -Leon outlasts Herm, goes to the Pro Bowl while Herm goes to the toilet bowl. Way to go Herm! |

Agree 100%. He would be a great college coach. Not cut out to be a sucessful NFL head coach. |

Any word on a possible replacment for Edwards?

"Tough decision" Herm? I think not. 15-33 in three years? Nah, it wasn't a tough decision. I read a poster that coined Herm as the black Rich Kotite. It just proves the point: You Can't Go Home, Again. It never works.

1 thank god Herm isn't father time, i would be twice my age right now. when coaching he should wear a big clock around his neck like the rapper Flavor Flav. that might help his clock management. maybe he would be a good coordinator. |

Herm is a good guy,I wish him the very best.

Some of you on here seem to forget Herm took the Jets to the playoffs three times in five years, actually WON two playoff games and was a 38-yard field goal away from the AFC title game.
The two years they didn't make the playoffs Chad Pennington got hurt. His first year in KC he took them to the playoffs and then the team got hit with a series of injuries. How many coaches could survive when their top 2 QBs go down with injury? Flashback to 1999. Vinny Testaverde goes down and the Jets go 8-8. Tom Brady goes down this year the Pats miss the playoffs. I know they were 11-5, but they missed the playoffs. Herm is by no means a great coach, but he did have some success. He was better than Eric Mangini. |

Maybe we'll bring him back as a db backs coach.
Relax, just kidding. |
