Sometimes I find myself falling into the same repetitious pattern as the predictable media and the zombie-like fans who think the talking heads know everything by constantly repeating the same old mantra; It's only the preseason. It doesn't count. While the wins and losses mean nothing in preseason, the injuries are real and affect the regular season and a teams chances to make the playoffs.
The ability shown by some players in these "meaningless" games go a long way to help them have productive NFL careers.
Devin Hester, Matt Forte, Garrett Wolfe, and now Johnny Knox first showed flashes of their special talents during the preseason, so while these games don't count once the season starts, for certain players, it's show ability or go home.

I don't think Mark Sanchez would be starting for the Jets, if he had'nt had such a good preseason.....
