I'm sorry, but I'm not sold on Oher or Britton being good picks in the 1st round. Britton is short-armed which means he is probably better suited to play inside on the line than at tackle. In any case, to me he smells like a reach @#22 with people convincing themselves that he is "safe" because of his character. He has to be "safe" on the field too. And with a noted liability up front, that means to me he's not a 1st rounder.

Oher is, as noted, boom-or-bust. Let's be honest, the Vikings' record with those kind of picks is awful. I doubt he'll be available in any case, but if he is, the Vikes should trade the pick to someone interested in him and get value in return.

I like Harvin because it's clear the Vikes need another wideout, and a returned. Plus he was even able to scare people out of the backfield. I could see him getting lined up in exotic packages as the 3rd down back. That would cause some mismatch issues. I think the character thing is overblown on him, to be honest.

I'd look at the O-line in the subsequent rounds, and look for a value pick at corner if they can get one. They don't need a starter this year, only a nickel. So he doesn't have to be elite off the bus. But if someone has the potential to grow, that would be fantastic.

I think the Vikings could use some depth at linebacker too. So I'm not convinced letting a Lauranitis, for instance, slide by is a good idea. In fact, if it looks like he'll slide into round 2, I might trade the 1 for a couple picks later and pick him with the 2nd rounder gained. He's 1st round caliber, and I don't understand the hate poured on him. It's not his fault Ohio State's offense wasn't able to compete against quality opposition. And I say that despite hating OSU.

Minnesota better not take a quarterback after passing on Cutler. Their first pick should be either a receiver or offensive tackle.

I agree with getting a right tackle, but I'm surprised no one has brought up trying Cook at the center position. He played that position in college. Who knows, we might have the center position covered already.

This is true BUT, W/J.Sullivan starting (NO BIRK)and R.Cook on the Offensive
Line...Good Luck getting the ball to Harvin! I like Harvin too1 BUT, we need to solidify the O Line for Adrian!(And WHOMEVER starts a QB!)

Rumor on foxsports.com is that Percy Harvin failed a dope test before the combine..... I seem to remember Randy Moss scaring a lot of teams because he smoked dope when he was 17..... That seemed to work out pretty well for the Vikings when he fell in there lap. Take Harvin, he is the safe pick.

Im warming up to Harvin...originally i scared of his size but man does that guy have burst. Thats something the Vikings could use to add some excitement to the offense but I don't think we need that. We need that guy who can go across the middle and be that possession WR so with that I have to say Derrius Heyward-Bey or Kenny Brit would be good picks for the Vikings. I think the Vikings could drop down in the first round to pick one of those two guys.

Unfortunately we have a horrible spot for Offensive Lineman...Briton is good but he's not worthy of pick 22...he falls more in the 35-40 range IMO. Oher...well I don't think he falls to us and I would worried about him.

Another guy to keep your eye on is Pat White...its been rumored that the Vikings are interested in him but please don't pay 1st round price for this guy. He's kind of like Matt Jones really.

We do have Center covered...we have Sullivan (6th rounder last year). The Vikings are going to give him a chance so we don't need center we need a Right Tackle. Unfortunately I still think free agency and cuts will be the best place to get a tackle.

No way is Pettigrew our pick. Shiancoe was a beast last year and hes still young. No reason to draft a TE and Pettigrew won't even be the best player available at #22.

I could see the Vikings going DT, OL, or WR. Possibly a CB like Vontae Davis if hes still sitting there.

I beleive Harvin's our guy at 22, I think Britton will fall into round 2 if not then we grab Longholt or the best DB availuable. But we definately need a offencive playmaker with that 22 pic.

I'd like to see the Vikes go for OL or WR in the 1st round, depending on who is available and then grab QB White in the 2nd. I think White could potentially be the best offensive player in the draft and he seems to be the type of QB Kilink covets i.e., dual threat like McNabb and a more accomplished TJack.....

Don't leave a D-lineman out of the the picture. We have two guys who may miss the first 1/4 of the season. And one of those guys is going to be 38 AND coming off an injury (and was hurting at the end of the season before). I think Pat is on his last legs as a viable DT and we need to get ready for that. Maybe not 1st round (although I wouldn't mind it if the right guy was there). But certainly first 3 rounds.

Not in this class. Other then Sanchez and Stafford there isn't a QB that is going to help us this year or next year. This isn't the draft class to reach at QB. We have what we have and there isn't too much that can be done about that unless we do some draft day trade...and I just don't see that happening...Brady Quinn would be the only viable option really and he will cost us our #22 pick.

I like Harvin and hes really explosive but I would be happier trading up in round two or down in round 1 and grabbing Kenny Britt.
