Not knowing exactly what was said among Rlle, McKinnely, and Scott, but reading Scott's word, I say "Mr. Scott, it sounds as if you were frustrated with 'the game being over with', it sounds as if you depend on the refs to help keep you intact, "you be the 'man', you be the 'figure of integrity' and self discipline, you be the 'man and walk way'". Each person is resonsible for their actions. We can look at another for being provocative, but in the end, we are completely responsible for our response and reaction, not the other person. No excuses. Stop blaming others. That said, I think the catch at the end was close. However, I would have wanted it called the way it was if it had been a Raven. I think the call on Winbourne reflects a question of how the refs percieved this game. However, there was plenty more I see as the Ravens doing or not doing to allow these circumstances to have developed. Accept responsibility and move on like an adult!

Mr. Rolle, You're wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
Wrong because the ref HAS "played the game before". Wring because he has the right to call you a boy, since he's old enough to be your dad.(My boss does it to me all the time!) Wrong to defend Scott's idiotic actions. Wrong - the game was not "over with," as there were 44 seconds left and a field goal would tie the game. Scott helped dig a hole for Boller and the offense, when your team really needed field position. Wrong to complain about it the next day. Yet another example of a no-class move by a no-class organization. It's getting harder and harder to root for this team, and it has nothing to do with their won-loss record. |

Sure makes a person long for the old Baltimore team (prior to the Ursay ownership). They had class and made no excuses. This conduct reflects badly on the entire organization.

When the Zebras control the outcome of a game suspicions arise with good reason. A phantom pass interference call on 4th down is highly questionable, especially when a ref makes derogatory remarks calling a player Boy- showing animosity.
The NFL Refs should be held accountable for bad calls and bad judgment as their actions affect the outcome of the game. Where there are blatant errors the officials should be held accountable and repeat offenders should be removed. Bart Scott is right about the refs Baltimore Bias, as looking back over several seasons many games were taken away by bad calls. Even Rec League Refs blow calls and that is to be expected without whining. Sure, many NFL calls are missed and to err is human, but there surely seems a consistent pattern here where Baltimore does not get the right calls. There was a game about 2 years ago with Detroit I believe, where the Refs intentionally called a record number pf penalties against the Ravens because of a conflict with the team and the outcome was obvious. I submit, that Baltimore Bias has never stopped. The NFL should hold the Refs accountable and stop manipulating the game. This is not a level playing field but one tilted by the Refs. I say FIX the problem or Boycott the NFL !!! |

I don't get this "boy" thing.
Don't a lot of black guys call each other the "n" word? Doesn't it appear in Rap songs along with many other ugly and demeaning phrases? How is this an issue? If this ref were white good old Al and Jesse would be right on top of things and we have more racial divide. This crap makes me sick. "You disrespected me" is something that is stated by many black people. As we've all heard many times before you have to earn respect not demand it. Do you really think that anyone can change what people say about them or to them? Now were going to have the "B" word. Just shut up and play the damn game. |

Players should NEVER go after the ref like they did. They should all get fines and suspensions.
3 angry Ravens basically attacking an African American ref. Bullies! |
||||
yeah why is noone calling out billick this week for calling plays straight up the middle with no timeouts forcing a hail mary? a field goal would have tied it but if you cant get out of bounds you cant kick it. they had time for 3-5 plays to the sideline with 44 sec. left and to get close enough to at least tie. but its still the refs and the league being bias to ensure the pats undefeated season. what was the defenses excuse during the pittsburgh game? oh yea the offense of the ravens couldnt score enough points but ray lewis wont be a man and say its our fault we gave up 35 in the first half. they know their offense isnt capable of that kind of production but still blamed them for their inadequecies on defense. the buffalo game, again they blamed the offense and coaches but never took blame for their inability to keep the buffalo offense in check. every week with the defense is a different excuse. been hearing it all year but its never their fault. thats a bunch of grown up babies crying they cant do their job right because of other people. honestly if i were the ravens front office, i would restaff the entire defense next year, get rid of lewis, reed, scott, rolle and get some guys in there that will at least take blame for their own mistakes. individual talent is just destroying that team and its sad. |

Why can't I find any reference to this "NFL Review" on the NFL website.
I've seen many violations that weren't seen by the refs, they're human. Would you feel better if the games were refereed by a computer? |
||||
|
Where is Jessie and Al? Why haven't they gone on camera and condemned this act?
Oh, wait. A black man is accused of doing it. They won't touch it unless a non-black person is accused. Too busy with more important things. Like ignoring the harm that the american-african community is doing to itself. |

Pylesville is right on??? First of all, this is not a racist issue as all involved are African-American. As I've been told repeatedly, African-American's can call each other the "n" word, but others can't. I would suppose that such is also allowed with other terms as well or do we make up the rules as we go along to suit our most recent excuse for a loss.
Mr. Rolle wants to be treated as an equal, yet Mr. Scott wants the Referee to be "the bigger man and walk away." Which is it? By Mr. Scott's own logic, both the referee and Mr. Rolle were acting as equals. Mr. Rolle started the exchange with a comment that the ref had never played the game and, as such, wasn't qualified to make the calls he had made. This is just yet another example of the constant whining that the Ravens do after a close loss. They'll accept a staggering defeat, but they'll never accept a close loss without taking on the officials. I wonder what we'd think if the last heave toward the end zone had been caught for a touchdown after Mason's blatant pass interference allowed Mason to make the catch and was not called. See, not all the calls went against the whining Ravens and I'm sure that there were many other calls that went against the Patriots during the course of the game. Finally, I'm trying to understand this whole thing with Bart Scott. Mr. Scott was in the back of the end zone after the touchdown. The head linesman would be along the line of scrimmage at the sideline. The initial penalty was for Scott bumping the official (an obvious call - even if demonstrating a penalty - and usually that contact is based primarily on frustration). Then Mr. Scott picks up the flag lying near him and chucks it into the stands because of what is being said to Rolle by the head linesman. I'm not saying anyone is lying - yet; however, the positioning of everyone involved does not make a lot of sense. |

why is it that only ignorant baltimore fans call it phantom hold? the guy got held for his entire route. why is it that a guy, rolle who uses what a ref says to justify bad mistakes, getting defended only by ignorant baltimore fans? how is it a black ref can be called a bigot when he calls another black man boy? i bet rolle would have been fine if he said "shut your mouth and play, n%^&a" thats an acceptable word for a black man to call another black man but if you call him a boy, hes a racist. just to clear it up: 1]racism is one race's hatred on another so its not possible for a black man to be racist towards another black man. or a white man to be racist to a white man. 2]even if he was insulted, rolle is a big boy, at least by age, and he should have ignored it like big boys do. it shouldnt have affected him and every story seems to confirm rolle is yelling in the refs face first. maybe if he wasnt disrespecting the ref, he wouldnt be trying to get the guy in trouble for a comment that may or may not have been said. its yet another example of how the ravens defense has justified their behavior and mistakes on the field all year. they come into the game the second highest penalized team, they get the same high amount of CORRECT calls again playing the pats but this weeks excuse is they had black racist refs and a league who is going to ensure an undefeated pats record. during the buffalo game it was the coaches fault, during the pittsburgh game it was the offenses fault. when are these overgrown babies in lewis, rolle, scott, going to grow up and take responsibility for their actions? they make too many mental mistakes every week for it to be someone elses fault every time. here is another one. if you blame someone different every week for things that are clearly your fault, you get labeled as the boy(sorry for the racist reference)who cried wolf. people get sick of hearing it and then even when you are right noone will believe you. if they hadnt averaged that many penalties a game, and didnt complain every week during their other 7 losses they may have been able to get some real support for their accusations monday morning. but since this is a weekly occurance people are just sick of hearing it, or in your case buy into the juvenile mentality of the ravens defense. one more thing, you cant film phantoms so go watch the tape, it wasnt phantom holding. |

It's sad that the term "boy" is considered a racial term.
This was a case of an older man trying to discipline/calm/warn a younger man who was emotional charged up and he and his teamates were acting childish. If an older person of any race calls you a "boy", chances are they are trying to offer you some words of wisdom or warn you of your behavior, not criticize your race. The Ravens are a very undisciplined team and have been for years. Billick has been too permissive. A new leader is needed. Bill Cowher maybe? |

In a conversation with a co-worker in another city, he asked me why Baltimore seems filled with such whiny sports stars.
After an attempt to defend the city, I came to the stark realization that it's because this city if filled with such whiny sports fans. The "victimized, defeatist, woe is me" mentality permeates every single aspect of life here. Our crime problem, our schools, our over population, our you name it. None of it's our fault. Someone else is controlling it. Christ we are nothing but a bunch of losers. Cleveland and Buffalo laugh at us. |

Your choice, whiners or winners. You can't have it both ways. |

It's not a race issue. It's about a impettious prima donna that is raised in a society of victims and has been taught that he should whine and complain and threaten with lawyers rather than man up.
Race issue? Yea, sure, Play the race card you @#$@ idiot. Go tell it to Judge Judy. Then again these pro athletes laugh all the way to bank. It must smart to know you lost the game, but all this crap and whining can't be tolerated. Come on Baltimore, Put an end to this garbage! |

Maybe if Scott acted like a man, folks wouldnt' refer to him as "boy".

I am a Ravens fan and I have 3 words for Rolle: Boo Hoo Hoo. Good lord, I hear worse language directed at me at away games while wearing Raven purple. Aren't you too old and too mature to worry about something as trivial as that? If this team worried more about execution, discipline and consistency than trash talking (oh yea, we do our fair share too) we'd be better off.
