Not to get fat mixed with stew here, but the Ravens DID NOT get the "draft's... best fullback (Le'Ron McClain)" -- Rutgers' Brian Leoneard was the best fullback. And crowing about getting the draft's best returner in Yamon Figurs is like bragging about being the best Tenor in Texarkana. Is there a reason no one in the press asked about passing on QB Trent Edwards? So the Ravens drafted Troy Smith? So what! Did anyone notice that two of Smith's WRs were taken in the 1st round? Uh, maybe it wasn't Troy Smith's greatness at Ohio State; maybe it was the guys around him.

Brian Leoneard is way over rated as a FB and has charater issues. May be a good NFL fullback...maybe better move to tight-end....kind of like Wycheck out of MD. People forget he (Wycheck)started as halfback at UMD. Ended up being great NFL tight end. I see Leonard going that way. Good size, moves well in the open field. I do not see him lasting as a FB, has talent though.

what are you talking about that the recievers made troy smith great??.... Last time I checked it wasnt the recievers that threw the ball 40+ yards on the run off their backfoot... and it wasn't the recievers who evaded the passrush giving those recievers the time to get open.. Thats why Newsome makes Millions and you make thousands.. he gets the money to know what hes talking about and not talk out of his ass..

Tsk tsk...so much anger and venom. Personally, I dont think taking Smith was a good pick....I think they could have used it else where...and he might have fallen to free agency.

Be that as it may...he's a Raven now, gotta root for him.

If the coaching staff dedicates as much time in perfecting Smith 's performance as we did with Boller's, I think we'll see much better results. Not to mention, I think Smith will make it a point to rub elbows with McNair!

Have you seen any of Smith's games? He wasn't throwing the ball up fro grabs for his receivers to make acrobatic catches. He makes pinpoint passes. nothing against his receivers, but the guy has talent. If he was 2" taller he'd have been drafted ahead of Quinn

I think the Ravens had an excellent draft and their QB pick could end up as being their best overall selection as hopefully he can become Steve McNair's backup and maybe his someday's replacement.

He only played FB one year so of course he has things to work on like blocking, but his main position with the Rams will be HB/RB. He has no "character issues" or they would've been made known way before now.

Sorry, I know otherwise. And I dont chirp that out lightly. No , not criminal or such, but just very below my moral compass. I guess we all define character at different levels.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
